The LTC1772 is a constant frequency current mode step-down DC/DC controller providing excellent AC and DC load and line regulation. The device incorporates an accurate undervoltage lockout feature that shuts down the LTC1772 when the input voltage falls below 2.0V.The LTC1772 provides a ?2.5% output voltage accuracy and consumes only 270?A of quiescent current. For applications where efficiency is a prime consideration, the LTC1772 is configured for Burst Mode operation, which enhances efficiency at low output current. To further maximize the life of a battery source, the external P-channel MOSFET is turned on continuously in dropout (100% duty cycle). In shutdown, the device draws a mere 8?A. High constant operating frequency of 550kHz allows the use of a small external inductor. The LTC1772 is available in a small footprint 6-lead SOT-23. The LTC4126-ADJ is a low-power wireless single-cell Li-Ion battery charger with an integrated step-down DC/DC regulator. The step-down regulator is a low-noise multimode charge pump which is powered from the battery and provides a regulated 1.2V at the output. The switching frequency is set to either 50kHz or 75kHz depending on the mode to keep any switching noise out of the audible range. The constant-current constant-voltage Li-Ion battery charger has automatic recharge, automatic termination by safety timer, and battery temperature monitoring via an NTC pin. Charge current is programmable from 1mA to 50mA via an external resistor. Undervoltage protection disconnects the battery from all loads when the battery voltage is below 3.0V.The small package and minimal external component count make the LTC4126-ADJ and its variants suitable for hearing aid applications and other low power portable devices. The LT8331 is a current mode DC/DC converter with a 140V, 0.5A switch operating from a 4.5V to 100V input. With a unique single feedback pin architecture, it is capable of boost, SEPIC, flyback or inverting configurations. Burst Mode operation consumes as low as 6?A quiescent current to maintain high efficiency at very low output currents, while keeping typical output ripple below 20mV.The internally-compensated current mode architecture results in stable operation over a wide range of input and output voltages and programmable switching frequencies between 100kHz to 500kHz. A SYNC/MODE pin allows synchronization to an external clock. It can also be used to select between burst or pulse-skipping modes of operation. For increased efficiency, a BIAS pin can accept a second input to supply the INTVCC regulator. Additional features include frequency foldback and programmable soft-start for controlling inductor current during start-up.The LT8331 is available in a thermally-enhanced MSOP package with four pins removed for high voltage spacings.Applications Industrial and Automotive Telecom Medical Diagnostic Equipment Portable Electronics

The LTC4230 is a 3-channel Hot Swap? controller that allows a board to be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane. Internal high side switch drivers control the gates of external N-channel MOSFETs for supply voltages ranging from 1.7V to 16.5V. The LTC4230 provides soft-start and inrush current limiting during the programmable start-up period.On-chip current limit comparators provide dual level circuit breaker protection. The slow comparators trip at VCCn?? 50mV and activate in 10?s or are programmed by an external filter capacitor. The fast comparators trip at VCCn?? 150mV and typically respond in 500ns.Each FBn?pin monitors its own output supply voltage and signals its RESET pin. The ON pin turns the chip on and off and can be used for a reset function. The LTC4230 also provides additional functions including fault indication, autoretry or latchoff modes, programmable current limit response time based on the FAULT and FILTER pins? functionality.Applications Electronic Circuit Breaker Hot Board Insertion and Removal (Either On Backplane or On Removable Card) Industrial High Side Switch/Circuit Breaker

The LTC1730 is a complete pulse charger for 1-cell lithium-ion batteries. When charging a depleted cell, the internal MOSFET is fully on allowing the current limited input power source to provide charge current to the battery, virtually eliminating heat generation in the charger. As the battery accepts charge and approaches the programmed voltage, the internal MOSFET begins switching off and on with the duty cycle gradually decreasing as the battery approaches a fully charged condition. A programmable timer ends the charge cycle. The end-of-charge condition is indicated at the CHRG pin when the average charge current falls to C/10. Removing the input voltage puts the LTC1730 into a sleep mode, dropping the battery current drain to less than 1?A (maximum). An external sense resistor limits the maximum charge current as a safety precaution against a user connecting a wall adapter with the incorrect or no current limit. The internal MOSFET prevents reverse battery current from flowing if the input voltage is shorted to ground, eliminating the need for a blocking diode. The LTC1730-4 is available in the 16-pin SSOP package and the LTC1730-4.2 is available in the 8-pin SO package.Applications Standalone Lithium-Ion Battery Charger Handheld Computers Cellular Telephones
