LTC2353-16 Demo Board | Buffered Dual, 18-Bit, 550ksps Simultaneous Sampling SAR ADC (Requires DC590, DC2026 or DC890)
Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 2365A highlights the LTC2358 family of buffered input ADCs. The LTC2358/LTC2357/LTC2353/LTC2333 are low noise, high speed, 16-/18- bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADCs with integrated front end buffers. These ADCs accept a wide common mode range. Pico-amp inputs and high CMRR enable these ADCs to connect directly to a wide range of sensors without compromising measurement accuracy. The following text refers to the LTC2358-18 but applies to all parts in the family, the only differences being the number of bits, number of channels and the maximum sample rate. The LTC2358-18 has a flexible SoftSpan™ interface that allows conversion-by-conversion control of the input voltage span on a per-channel basis. An internal 2.048V reference and 2X buffer simplify basic operation while an external reference can be used to increase the input range and the SNR of the ADC.

The LTC2498 is a 16-channel (8-differential) 24-bit No Latency ??? ADC with Easy Drive technology. The patented sampling scheme eliminates dynamic input current errors and the shortcomings of on-chip buffering through automatic cancellation of differential input current. This allows large external source impedances, and rail-to-rail input signals to be directly digitized while maintaining exceptional DC accuracy. The LTC2498 includes a high accuracy temperature sensor and an integrated oscillator. This device can be configured to measure an external signal (from combinations of 16 analog input channels operating in single ended or differential modes) or its internal temperature sensor. The integrated temperature sensor offers 1/30th ?C resolution and 2?C absolute accuracy. The LTC2498 allows a wide common mode input range (0V to VCC), independent of the reference voltage. Any combination of single-ended or differential inputs can be selected and the first conversion after a new channel is selected is valid. Access to the multiplexer output enables optional external amplifiers to be shared between all analog inputs and auto calibration continuously removes their associated offset and drift.Applications Direct Sensor Digitizer Direct Temperature Measurement Instrumentation Industrial Process Control

It has a rail-to-rail output buffer and is guaranteed monotonic. The LTC2636-L has a full-scale output of 2.5V, and operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply. The LTC2636-H has a full-scale output of 4.096V, and operates from a 4.5V to 5.5V supply. Each DAC can also operate with an external reference, which sets the DAC full-scale output to the external reference voltage. These DACs communicate via an SPI/MICROWIRE-compatible 3-wire serial interface which operates at clock rates up to 50MHz. Hardware clear (CLR) and asynchronous DAC update (LDAC) pins are available in the MSOP package. The LTC2636 incorporates a power-on reset circuit. Options are available for reset to zero-scale or reset to mid-scale in internal reference mode, or reset to mid-scale in external reference mode after power-up.Applications Mobile Communications Process Control and Industrial Automation Automatic Test Equipment Portable Equipment Automotive Optical Networking
