The ADuM440x are 4-channel digital isolators based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic air core transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics that are superior to the alternatives, such as optocoupler devices and other integrated couplers.The ADuM440x isolators provide four independent isolation channels in a variety of channel configurations and data rates (see the Ordering Guide). All models operate with the supply voltage on either side ranging from 3.0 V to 5.5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems as well as enabling a voltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier. The ADuM440x isolators have a patented refresh feature that ensures dc correctness in the absence of input logic transitions and during power-up/power-down conditions.This family of isolators, like many Analog Devices isolators, offers very low power consumption, consuming one-tenth to one-sixth the power of comparable isolators at comparable data rates up to 10 Mbps. All models of the ADuM440x provide low pulse width distortion (<2 ns for C grade). In addition, every model has an input glitch filter to protect against extraneous noise disturbances.The ADuM440x contain circuit and layout enhancements to help achieve system-level IEC 61000-4-x compliance (ESD/burst/surge). The precise capability in these tests for the ADuM440x are strongly determined by the design and layout of the user’s board or module. The ADP5585 is a 10I/O port expander with built-in keypad matrix decoder, programmable logic, reset generator, and PWM generator. I/O expander ICs are used in portable devices (phones, remote controls, & cameras) and non-portable applications (healthcare, industrial & instrumentation). I/O expanders can be used to increase the number of I/Os available to a processor or to reduce the number of I/Os required through interface connectors for front panel designs.The ADP5585 handles all key scanning and decoding and can flag the main processor via an interrupt line that new key events have occurred. GPI changes and logic changes can also be tracked as events via the FIFO, eliminating the need to monitor different registers for event changes. The ADP5585 is equipped with a FIFO to store up to 16 events. The ADuM4470 / ADuM4471 / ADuM4472 / ADuM4473 / ADuM4474 are quad-channel, digital isolations with a regulated DC/DC isolated power supply controller with an internal MOSFET driver. The DC/DC controller has an internal isolated PWM feedback from the secondary side based on the iCoupler® chip scale transformer technology and complete loop compensation. This eliminates the need to use an optocoupler for feedback and compensates the loop for stability.The ADuM447x isolator provides a more stable output voltage and higher efficiency compared to unregulated isolated dc-to-dc power supplies. The fully integrated feedback and loop compensation in a wide-body SOIC package provide a smaller form factor and 8.3 mm creepage distance solution.The regulated feedback provides a relatively flat efficiency curve over the full output power range. The ADuM3070 enables a DC/DC converter with a 3.3 V to 24 V isolated output voltage range from either a 5.0 V or a 3.3 V input voltage, with an output power of up to 2.5 W.The ADuM447x isolators provide four independent isolation channels in a variety of channel configurations and data rates. The ADuM6210/ADuM6211/ADuM6212 are dual-channel digital isolators with isoPower®, an integrated, isolated dc-to-dc converter. Based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, the dc-to-dc converter provides regulated, isolated power that is adjustable between 3.135 V and 5.25 V. Input supply voltages can range from slightly below the required output to significantly higher. Popular voltage combinations and their associated power levels are shown in Table 2.The ADuM6210/ADuM6211/ADuM6212 eliminate the need for a separate, isolated dc-to-dc converter in low power, isolated designs. The iCoupler chip-scale transformer technology is used for isolated logic signals and for the magnetic components of the dc-to-dc converter. The ADN4622/ADN4624 are quad-channel, signal isolated, low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) buffers that operate at up to 2.5 Gbps with very low jitter. The devices integrate Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, enhanced for high-speed operation to provide drop-in galvanic isolation of LVDS signal chains. AC coupling and/or level shifting to the LVDS receivers and from the LVDS drivers allows isolation of other high-speed signals such as current-mode logic (CML).The ADN4622/ADN4624 include a refresh mechanism to monitor the input and output states and ensure they remain the same in the absence of data transitions. For lower power consumption and high-speed operation with low jitter, the LVDS and isolator circuits rely on 1.8 V supplies. The ADM222, ADM232A, ADM242 are a family of high-speedRS-232 line drivers/receivers offering transmission rates up to200 kB/s. Operating from a single 5 V power supply, a highlyefficient on-chip charge pump using small (0.1 µF) externalcapacitors allows RS-232 bipolar levels to be developed. TwoRS-232 drivers and two RS-232 receivers are provided oneach device.The devices are fabricated on BiCMOS, an advanced mixedtechnology process that combines low power CMOS with highspeedbipolar circuitry. This allows for transmission rates up to200 kB/s, yet minimizes the quiescent power supply current tounder 5 mA.The ADM232A is a pin-compatible, high-speed upgrade for theAD232 and for the ADM232L. It is available in 16-lead DIPand in both narrow and wide surface-mount (SOIC) packages.The ADM222 contains an additional shutdown (SHDN) functionthat may be used to disable the device, thereby reducing thesupply current to 0.1 µA. During shutdown, all transmit/receivefunctions are disabled. The ADM222 is available in 18-leadDIP and in a wide surface-mount (SOIC) package.The ADM242 combines both shutdown (SHDN) and enable(EN) functions. The shutdown function reduces the supplycurrent to 0.1 mA. During shutdown, the transmitters are disabledbut the receivers continue to operate normally. Theenable function allows the receiver outputs to be disabledthereby facilitating sharing a common bus. The ADM2490E is an isolated data transceiver with ±8 kV ESD protection that is suitable for high speed, full-duplex communication on multipoint transmission lines. It is designed for balanced transmission lines and complies with ANSI TIA/EIA-485-A-1998 and ISO 8482: 1987(E). The device employs Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology to combine a 2-channel isolator, a three-state differential line driver, and a differential input receiver into a single package.The differential transmitter outputs and receiver inputs feature electrostatic discharge circuitry that provides protection to ±8 kV using the human body model (HBM). The ADM3202 / ADM3222 / ADM1385 are high speed, 2-channel RS232/V.28 interface devices which operate from a single +3.3 V power supply. Low power consumption and a shutdown facility (ADM3222/ADM1385) makes them ideal for battery powered portable instruments.The ADM3202 / ADM3222 / ADM1385 conform to the EIA-232E and CCITT V.28 specifications and operate at data rates up to 230 kbps. Four external 0.1 µF charge pump capacitors are used for the voltage doubler/inverter permitting operation from a single +3.3 V supply.The ADM3222 / ADM1385 contain additional enable and shutdown circuitry. The EN input may be used to three-state the receiver outputs. The SD input is used to power down the charge pump and transmitter outputs reducing the quiescent current to less than 1 µA. The receivers remain enabled during shutdown unless disabled using EN.The ADM3202 is available in a 16-lead DIP, narrow and wide SO as well as a space saving TSSOP package. The ADM3222 is available in 18 lead DIP , SO and in 20 lead SSOP and TSSOP.
