The AD7306 line driver/receiver is a 5 V monolithic product which provides an interface between TTL signal levels and dual standard EIA RS-232/RS-422 signal levels. The part contains two RS-232 drivers, one RS-422 driver, one RS-232 receiver, and one receiver path which can be configured either as RS-232 or as RS-422.An internal charge pump voltage converter facilitates operation from a single +5 V power supply. The internal charge pump generates ±10 V levels allowing RS-232 output levels to be developed without the need for external bipolar power supplies.A highly efficient charge pump design allows operation using non polarized, miniature 0.1 mF capacitors. This gives a considerable saving in printed circuit board space over conventional products which can use up to 10 mF capacitors. The charge pump output voltages may also be used to power external circuitry which requires dual supplies.The RS-232 channels are suitable for communications rates up to 100 kHz and the RS-422 channels are suitable for high speed communications up to 5 MHz. The RS-422 transmitter complementaryoutputs are closely matched and feature low timing skew between the complementary outputs. This is often an essential requirement to meet tight system timing specifications.All inputs feature ESD protection, all driver outputs feature high source and sink current capability and are internally protected against short circuits on the outputs. The AD8018 is a dual, high speed, low cost amplifier capable of driving low distortion signals to within 0.5 V of the supply rail. It is intended for use in single supply xDSL systems where low distortion and low cost is essential, and maximum reach on the line must be attained with the minimum of supply voltages. Each amplifier drives minimum 350 mA of output current and while maintaining -95 dBc of SFDR at 100 kHz, outstanding performance for any xDSL CPE application. The AD8018 is available with flexible standby and shutdown modes. Two bit control (1.5 V threshold referenced to DGND) will put the AD8018 into a full power standby (outputs low impedance) and shutdown (outputs high impedance).Fabricated in ADI's high speed XFCB process, the high bandwidth and fast slew rate of the AD8018 keep distortion to a minimum, while dissipating a minimum of power. The quiescent current of the AD8018 is low 9 mA/amplifier max. Low distortion, high output voltage drive, and high output current drive in small packages make the AD8018 ideal for use in low cost USB, PCMCIA and PCI Customer Premise Equipment for ADSL, SDSL, VDSL and proprietary xDSL systems.An evaluation board is available for this product and may be ordered using the following product number AD8018ARU-EVAL.

The ADM483E is a 5 V, low power data transceiver with ±15 kV ESD protection suitable for half-duplex communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. The ADM483E is designed for balanced data transmission and complies with TIA/EIA Standards RS-485 and RS-422, which allow up to 32 transceivers on a bus.The ADM483E has a low current shutdown mode in which it consumes only 0.1 μA. Because only one driver is enabled at any time, the output of a disabled or power-down driver is three-stated to avoid overloading the bus. Drivers are short-circuit current-limited and are protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places their outputs into a high impedance state. The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that guarantees a logic high output if the input is open circuit. Operating from a single supply as low as +2.7 V, the ADM3307E is a five-driver/three-receiver serial port transceiver, and fully meets full EIA-232 standards. It features an on-board, charge pump dc-to-dc converter, which eliminates the need for dual power supplies. This dc-to-dc converter also contains a voltage tripler and voltage inverter for internally generating positive and negative supplies from the power supply. It operates in Green Idle Mode, where the charge pump oscillator is gated on and off to maintain output voltage to +/-7.25 V, regardless of the load conditions. It has the added benefit of having +15kV ESD protection on both the RS-232 I/O pins and the TTL pins, making it ideal for harsh environments. It also operates at speeds of up to 1Mbps. The ADM3311E is a three driver/five receiver product designed to fully meet the EIA-232 standard while operating with a single +2.7 to 3.6V power supply. The devices feature an on-chip DC to DC converter, eliminating the need for dual power supplies. This DC-DC converter contains a voltage tripler and voltage inverter which internally generates a regulated ±7.5V from the input 3V power supply. An internal voltage monitoring circuit continually adjusts the oscillator frequency to maintain the desired output voltage levels. In an unloaded state, the oscillator idles at a minimum frequency (Green-Idle Mode™) thereby minimizing the power consumption.
