The AD1939 is a high performance, single-chip codec that provides four analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) with differential input, and eight digital-to-analog converters (DACs) with differential output using the Analog Devices, Inc. patented multibit sigma-delta (Σ-Δ) architecture. An SPI port is included, allowing a microcontroller to adjust volume and many other parameters. The AD1939 operates from 3.3 V digital and analog supplies. The AD1939 is available in a 64-lead (differential output) LQFP package.The AD1939 is designed for low EMI. This consideration is apparent in both the system and circuit design architectures. By using the on-board PLL to derive the master clock from the LR clock or from an external crystal, the AD1939 eliminates the need for a separate high frequency master clock and can also be used with a suppressed bit clock. The DACs and ADCs are designed using the latest Analog Devices continuous time architectures to further minimize EMI. The ADM1490E / ADM1491E are RS-485 transceivers with ±8 kV ESD protection and is suitable for high speed, full-duplex communication on multipoint transmission lines. In particular, the ADM1491E is designed for use in motor control applications requiring communications at data rates up to 16 Mbps.The ADM1491E is designed for balanced transmission lines and complies with TIA/EIA-485-A-98. The device has a 12 kΩ receiver input impedance for unit load RS-485 operation allowing up to 32 nodes on the bus.The differential transmitter outputs and receiver inputs feature electrostatic discharge circuitry that provides protection to ±8 kV using the human body model (HBM).The ADM1491E operates from a single 5 V power supply. Excessive power dissipation caused by bus contention or output shorting is prevented by short-circuit protection and thermal circuitry.Short-circuit protection circuits limit the maximum output current to ±250 mA during fault conditions. A thermal shutdown circuit senses if the die temperature rises above 150°C and forces the driver outputs into a high impedance state under this condition.The receiver of the ADM1491E contains a fail-safe feature that results in a logic high output state if the inputs are unconnected (floating).The ADM1491E features extremely fast and closely matched switching times. It features a flow-through pin configuration for easy PCB layout and separation of input and output signals. The device accepts low voltage (310 mV typical) differential input signals and converts them to a single-ended, 3 V TTL/CMOS logic level.The ADN4668 also offers active-high and active-low enable/disable inputs (EN and overbar: EN) that control all four receivers. They disable the receivers and switch the outputs to a high impedance state. This high impedance state allows the outputs of one or more ADN4668s to be multiplexed together and reduces the quies-cent power consumption to 3 mW typical. The ADN4668 and its companion driver, the ADN4667, offer a new solution to high speed, point-to-point data transmission and a low power alternative to emitter-coupled logic (ECL) or positive emitter-coupled logic (PECL).

The AD7306 line driver/receiver is a 5 V monolithic product which provides an interface between TTL signal levels and dual standard EIA RS-232/RS-422 signal levels. The part contains two RS-232 drivers, one RS-422 driver, one RS-232 receiver, and one receiver path which can be configured either as RS-232 or as RS-422.An internal charge pump voltage converter facilitates operation from a single +5 V power supply. The internal charge pump generates ±10 V levels allowing RS-232 output levels to be developed without the need for external bipolar power supplies.A highly efficient charge pump design allows operation using non polarized, miniature 0.1 mF capacitors. This gives a considerable saving in printed circuit board space over conventional products which can use up to 10 mF capacitors. The charge pump output voltages may also be used to power external circuitry which requires dual supplies.The RS-232 channels are suitable for communications rates up to 100 kHz and the RS-422 channels are suitable for high speed communications up to 5 MHz. The RS-422 transmitter complementaryoutputs are closely matched and feature low timing skew between the complementary outputs. This is often an essential requirement to meet tight system timing specifications.All inputs feature ESD protection, all driver outputs feature high source and sink current capability and are internally protected against short circuits on the outputs.
