The ADM202E and ADM1181A are robust, high speed, 2- channel RS232/V.28 interface devices that operate from a single +5 V power supply. Both products are suitable for operation in harsh electrical environments and are compliant with the EU directive on EMC(89/336/EEC). Both the level of electromagnetic emissions and immunity are in compliance. EM immunity includes ESD protection in excess of ±15 kV on all I/O lines, Fast Transient burst protection (1000-4-4) and Radiated Immunity (1000-4-3). EM emissions include radiated and conducted emissions as required by Information Technology Equipment EN55022, CISPR22.The ADM202E and ADM1181A conform to the EIA-232E and CCITT V.28 specifications and operate at data rates up to 230 kbps.Four external 0.1 µF charge pump capacitors are used for the voltage doubler/inverter permitting operation from a single +5 V supply.The ADM202E provides a robust pin-compatible upgrade for existing ADM202, ADM232L or MAX202E/MAX232E sockets. It is available in a 16-pin DIP, wide and narrow SO and also a space saving TSSOP package. The TSSOP package gives a 44% space saving over SOIC.The ADM1181A provides a robust pin compatible upgrade for the LTC1181A, and it is available in 16-pin DIP and 16-lead SO packages.

The ADM2xx family of line drivers/receivers is intended for all EIA-232-E and V.28 communications interfaces, especially in applications where ±12 V is not available. The ADM205, ADM211 and ADM213 feature a low power shutdown mode which reduces power dissipation to less than 5 µW making them ideally suited for battery powered equipment. The ADM205 does not require any external components and is particularly useful in applications where printed circuit board space critical. The ADM213 has an active-low shutdown and an active-high receiver enable control. Two receivers of the ADM213 remain active during shutdown. This feature is useful for ring indicator monitoring.All members of the ADM2xx family, except the ADM209, include two internal charge pump voltage converters which allow operation from a single +5 V supply. These converters convert the +5 V input power to the ±10 V required for RS-232 output levels. The ADM209 is designed to operate from +5 V and +12 V supplies. An internal +12 V to −12 V charge pump voltage converter generates the −12 V supply.

Shutdown and Enable control pins are provided on some of the products. The shutdown function on the ADM211E disables the charge pump and all transmitters and receivers. On the ADM213E the charge pump, all transmitters, and three of the five receivers are disabled. The remaining two receivers remain active thereby allowing monitoring of peripheral devices. This feature allows the device to be shut down until a peripheral device begins communication. The active receivers can alert the processor which can then take the ADM213E out of the shutdown mode. Operating from a single +5 V supply, four external 0.1 µF capacitors are required. The ADM206E is available in a 24-pin SO package. The ADM207E and ADM208E are available in 24-pin DIP, SO, SSOP and TSSOP packages. The ADM211E and ADM213E are available in 28-pin SO, SSOP and TSSOP packages. All products are backward compatible with earlier ADM2xx products facilitating easy upgrading of older designs.

The ADM4850 / ADM4851 / ADM4852 / ADM4853 / ADM4854 /ADM4855 / ADM4856 / ADM4857 are differential line transceiverssuitable for high speed, half-duplex and full duplex data communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. Theyare designed for balanced data transmission and comply with EIA Standards RS-485 and RS-422. The ADM4850 / ADM4851 / ADM4852 / ADM4853 are half-duplex transceivers that sharedifferential lines and have separate enable inputs for the driver and receiver. The full duplex ADM4854 / ADM4855 / ADM4856 / ADM4857 transceivers have dedicated differential line driveroutputs and receiver inputs.The devices have a 1/8-unit load receiver input impedance, which allows up to 256 transceivers on one bus. The logic side of the device is powered with asingle 3.3 V or 5 V supply on VDD1 and the bus side uses a single5 V supply on VDD2 only. The ADuM6210/ADuM6211/ADuM6212 are dual-channel digital isolators with isoPower®, an integrated, isolated dc-to-dc converter. Based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, the dc-to-dc converter provides regulated, isolated power that is adjustable between 3.135 V and 5.25 V. Input supply voltages can range from slightly below the required output to significantly higher. Popular voltage combinations and their associated power levels are shown in Table 2.The ADuM6210/ADuM6211/ADuM6212 eliminate the need for a separate, isolated dc-to-dc converter in low power, isolated designs. The iCoupler chip-scale transformer technology is used for isolated logic signals and for the magnetic components of the dc-to-dc converter. The ADuM7240 / ADuM7241 are dual channel digital isolators based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic air core trans-former technologies, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to the alternatives, such as optocoupler devices and other integrated couplers.The ADuM7240 / ADuM7241 dual 1 kV digital isolation devices are packaged in a narrow-body 8-lead SOIC. The ADuM7240 / ADuM7241 offer a cost-effective option compared to 2.5 kV or 5 kV isolators where only functional isolation is needed.Like other Analog Devices isolators, the ADuM7240 / ADuM7241 offer very low power consumption, consuming one-tenth to one-sixth the power of comparable isolators at data rates up to 25 Mbps. Despite the low power consumption, all models of the ADuM7240 / ADuM7241 provide low pulse width distortion (<5 ns for C grade). In addition, every model has an input glitch filter to protect against extraneous noise disturbances.The ADuM7240 / ADuM7241 provide two independent isolation channels and are available in two channel configurations with 1 Mbps or 25 Mbps data rates (see the Ordering Guide). The LTM2892 is a complete galvanic digital μModule® (micromodule) isolator. No external components are required. Individual 3V to 5.5V supplies power each side of the digital isolator. Separate logic supply pins allow easy interfacing with different logic levels from 1.62V to 5.5V, independent of the main supply.Module options are available with compatibility to SPI (LTM2892-S) and I2C (LTM2892-I), master mode only, specifications.Coupled inductors provide 3500VRMS of isolation between the input and output logic interface.
