Demonstration circuit 932A is an adjustable 1A linear regulator featuring LT3022. The LT3022 is a very low dropout voltage (VLDO™) linear regulator that operates from input supplies down to 0.9V. The device supplies 1A of output current with 145mV typical dropout voltage. The LT3022 is ideal for low input voltage to low output voltage applications, providing comparable electrical efficiency to a switching regulator. The demo board has an input voltage range from 1V to 10V and provides a jumper-selectable output voltage of 0.9V, 1V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V or a user-defined value down to 200mV. The regulator optimizes stability and transient response with low ESR ceramic output capacitors as small as 10µF. Other LT3022 features include 0.05% typical line regulation and 0.05% typical load regulation. In shutdown, the quiescent current typically drops to 7.5µA. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse-battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting with hysteresis and reverse-current protection.

It is based on the LTC4085 and provides a constant-current, constant-voltage linear battery charger, a USB power manager with PowerPath management for the battery. The 700mA CC/CV timer terminated, temperature qualified, linear charger targets Li-Ion batteries, and the USB power manager insures compliance with the USB power specification and PowerPath management for the battery. The demo board's input voltage range is 4.5V to 5.5V.

The LT3574 is a monolithic switching regulator specifically designed for the isolated flyback topology. No third winding or opto-isolator is required for regulation. The part senses the isolated output voltage directly from the primary side flyback waveform. A 0.65A, 60V NPN power switch is integrated along with all control logic into a 16?lead MSOP package. The LT3574 operates with input supply voltages from 3V to 40V, and can deliver output power up to 3W with no external power switch. The LT3574 utilizes boundary mode operation to provide a small magnetic solution with improved load regulation. The output voltage is easily set with two external resistors and the transformer turns ratio. Demonstration circuit 2234A is a synchronous sepic converter featuring the LT8711 multitopology switching controller. The LT8711 is a current mode PWM DC/DC controller with a dual input LDO to optimize gate driver efficiency. Ultralow 15μA quiescent current in low noise Burst Mode® operation achieves high efficiency at very light loads and helps extend the run-time in battery powered applications when in standby mode. The LT8711 switching frequency can be programmed either via oscillator resistor or external clock over a 100kHz to 750kHz range.

The ADuM4221/ADuM4221-1/ADuM4221-2 are 4 A isolated, half bridge gate drivers that employ the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler? technology to provide independent and isolated high-side and low-side outputs. The ADuM4221/ADuM4221-1/ADuM4221-2 provide 5700 V rms isolation in an increased creepage wide body, 16-lead SOIC_IC. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to the alternatives, such as the combination of pulse transformers and gate drivers.The isolators operate with a logic input voltage ranging from 2.5 V to 6.5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems. In comparison to gate drivers employing high voltage level translation methodologies, the ADuM4221/ADuM4221-1/ADuM4221-2 offer the benefit of true, galvanic isolation between the input and each output.The ADuM4221/ADuM4221-1/ADuM4221-2 each have built in overlap protection and allow dead time adjustment. A single resistor between the dead time pin (DT) and the GND1 pin sets the dead time on the secondary side between the high-side and the low-side outputs.An internal thermal shutdown (TSD) sets outputs low if the internal temperature on the ADuM4221/ADuM4221-1/ADuM4221-2 exceeds the TSD temperature. Demonstration circuit SCP-ADP7182-EVALZ is a –28V, –200mA Low Dropout (LDO) regulator designed to allow low noise operation in noise sensitive circuits. It is easily configured for a wide output range and can provide extremely quiet operation with its high PSRR. Like all boards in the Signal Chain Power series, this board is designed to be easily plugged into other SCP boards to form a complete signal chain power system, enabling fast evaluation of low power signal chains. To evaluate this board, some universal SCP hardware is required, namely: SCP-INPUT-EVALZ SCP-OUTPUT-EVALZ SCP-1X5BKOUT-EVALZ SCP-THRUBRD-EVALZ SCP-FILTER-EVALZ SCP-1X2BKOUT-EVALZ SCP-5X1-EVALZ   To properly evaluate SCP series demo boards, you will need the SCP Configurator companion software.
