The ADF7021-N is a high performance, low power, narrow-band transceiver based on the ADF7021. The ADF7021-N has IF filter bandwidths of 9 kHz, 13.5 kHz, and 18.5 kHz, making it ideally suited to worldwide narrowband standards and particularly those that stipulate 12.5 kHz channel separation. It is designed to operate in the narrow-band, license-free ISM bands and in the licensed bands with frequency ranges of 80 MHz to 650 MHz and 842 MHz to 916 MHz. The part has both Gaussian and raised cosine transmit data filtering options to improve spectral efficiency for narrow-band applications. It is suitable for circuit applications targeted at the Japanese ARIB STD-T67, the European ETSI EN 300 220, the Korean short range device regulations, the Chinese short range device regulations, and the North American FCC Part 15, Part 90, and Part 95 regulatory standards. A complete transceiver can be built using a small number of external discrete components, making the ADF7021-N very suitable for price-sensitive and area-sensitive applications. The range of on-chip FSK modulation and data filtering options allows users greater flexibility in their choice of modulation schemes while meeting the tight spectral efficiency requirements. The ADF7021-N also supports protocols that dynamically switch among 2FSK, 3FSK, and 4FSK to maximize communica-tion range and data throughput. The transmit section contains two voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) and a low noise fractional-N PLL with an output resolution of The frequency-agile PLL allows the ADF7021-N to be used in frequency-hopping, spread spectrum (FHSS) systems. The temperature sensor is accurate to ±10°C over the full oper-ating temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. The ADL5541 provides a gain of 15 dB, which is stable over frequency, temperature, power supply, and from device to device. The device is internally matched to 50 Ω with an input return loss of 10 dB or better up to 6 GHz. Only input/output ac coupling capacitors, power supply decoupling capacitors, and an external inductor are required for operation. The LT5579 mixer is a high performance upconverting mixer optimized for frequencies in the 1.5GHz to 3.8GHz range. The single-ended LO input and RF output ports simplify board layout and reduce system cost. The mixer needs only –1dBm of LO power and the balanced design results in low LO signal leakage to the RF output. At 2.6GHz operation, the LT5579 provides high conversion gain of 1.3dB, high OIP3 of +26dBm and a low noise floor of –157.5dBm/Hz at a –5dBm RF output signal level. The LT5579 offers a high performance alternative to passive mixers. Unlike passive mixers, which have conversion loss and require high LO drive levels, the LT5579 delivers conversion gain at significantly lower LO input levels and is less sensitive to LO power level variations. The ADF4002 frequency synthesizer is used to implement local oscillators in the up-conversion and down-conversion sections of wireless receivers and transmitters. It consists of a low-noise digital phase frequency detector (PFD), a precision charge pump, a programmable reference divider and programmable N divider. The 14-bit reference counter (R counter), allows selectable REFIN frequencies at the PFD input.A complete phase-locked loop (PLL) can be implemented if the synthesizer is used with an external loop filter and voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). In addition, by programming R and N to 1, the device can be used as a standalone PFD and charge pump.The ADF4002-EP supports defense and aerospace applications (AQEC standard).

The ADF4110 family of frequency synthesizers can be used to implement local oscillators in the up-conversion and down-conversion sections of wireless receivers and transmitters. They consist of low-noise digital PFD (Phase Frequency Detector), a precision charge pump, a programmable reference divider, programmable A and B counters and a dual modulus prescaler (P/P+1). A complete PLL (Phase-Locked Loop) can be implemented if the synthesizer is used with an external loop filter and VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator).Control of all the on-chip registers is via a simple 3-wire interface.
