The ADG508F and ADG509F are CMOS analog multiplexers, with the ADG508F comprising eight single channels and the ADG509F comprising four differential channels. These multiplexer provides fault protection. Using a series n-channel, p-channel, n-channel MOSFET structure, both device and signal source protection is provided in the event of an overvoltage or power loss. The multiplexer can withstand continuous overvoltage inputs from -40 V to +55 V. During fault conditions with power supplies off, the multiplexer input (or output) appears as an open circuit and only a few nanoamperes of leakage current will flow. This protects not only the multiplexer and the circuitry driven by the multiplexer, but also protects the sensors or signal sources that drive the multiplexer.The ADG508F switches one of eight inputs to a common output as determined by the 3-bit binary address lines A0, A1 and A2. The ADG509F switches one of four differential inputs to a common differential output as determined by the 2-bit binary address lines A0 and A1. An EN input on each device is used to enable or disable the device. When disabled, all channels are switched OFF.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS Fault protection. The ADG508F/ADG509F can withstand continuous voltage inputs from −40 V to +55 V. When a fault occurs due to the power supplies being turned off, all the channels are turned off and only a leakage current of a few nanoamperes flows. On channel saturates while fault exists. Low RON. Fast switching times. Break-before-make switching. Switches are guaranteed break-before-make so that input signals are protected against momentary shorting. Trench isolation eliminates latch-up. An EN input on both devices enables or disables the device.When disabled, all channels are switched off.These devices are designed on an enhanced process that provideslower power dissipation yet gives high switching speeds. Thesedevices can operate equally well as either multiplexers or demultiplexersand have an input range that extends to the supplies. Allchannels exhibit break-before-make switching action, preventingmomentary shorting when switching channels. All digital inputshave 0.8 V to 2.4 V logic thresholds, ensuring TTL/CMOS logiccompatibility when using single +5 V or dual ±5 V supplies. The ADG714 is a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS), octal single-pole, single-throw (SPST) switch controlled via a 3-wire serial interface. On resistance is closely matched between the switches and is flat over the full signal range. Each switch conducts equally well in both directions, and the input signal range extends to the supplies. Data is written to these devices in the form of 8 bits, each bit corresponding to one channel.The ADG714 uses a 3-wire serial interface that is compatiblewith serial peripheral interface (SPI), QSPI™, MICROWIRE™ interface standards, and most digital signal processing (DSP) interface standards. The output of the shift register DOUT enables a number of these devices to be daisy-chained. On power-up, all switches are in the OFF condition, and the internal registers contain all zeros.A low power consumption and operating supply range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V makes this part ideal for many applications. Maxim's redesigned DG411/DG412/DG413 analog switches now feature low on-resistance matching between switches (3Ω max) and guaranteed on-resistance flatness over the signal range (Δ4Ω max). These low on-resistance switches conduct equally well in either direction. They guarantee low charge injection, low power consumption, and an ESD tolerance of 2000V minimum per Method 3015.7. The new design offers lower off-leakage current over temperature (less than 5nA at +85°C).The DG411/DG412/DG413 are quad, single-pole/single-throw (SPST) analog switches. The DG411 is normally closed (NC), and the DG412 is normally open (NO). The DG413 has two NC switches and two NO switches. Switching times are less than 150ns max for tON and less than 100ns max for tOFF. These devices operate from a single +10V to +30V supply, or bipolar ±4.5V to ±20V supplies.
