DS18S20+PAR
Analog Devices Inc.
The DS18S20-PAR digital thermometer provides 9-bit centigrade temperature measurements and has an alarm function with nonvolatile user-programmable upper and lower trigger points. The DS18S20-PAR does not need an external power supply because it derives power directly from the data line ('parasite power'). The DS18S20-PAR communicates over a 1-Wire® bus, which by definition requires only one data line (and ground) for communication with a central microprocessor. It has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +100°C and is accurate to ±0.5°C over a range of -10°C to +85°C.Each DS18S20-PAR has a unique 64-bit identification code, which allows multiple DS18S20-PARs to function on the same 1-wire bus; thus, it is simple to use one microprocessor to control many DS18S20-PARs distributed over a large area. Applications that can benefit from this feature include HVAC environmental controls, temperature monitoring systems inside buildings, equipment or machinery, and process monitoring and control systems.ApplicationsRemote Sensing Applications

DS75S+
Analog Devices Inc.
The DS75 digital thermometer and thermostat provides 9, 10, 11, or 12-bit digital temperature readings over a -55°C to +125°C range with ±2°C accuracy over a -25°C to +100°C range. At power-up, the DS75 defaults to 9-bit resolution for software compatibility with the LM75. Communication with the DS75 is achieved via a simple 2-wire serial interface. Three address pins allow up to eight DS75 devices to operate on the same 2-wire bus, which greatly simplifies distributed temperature sensing applications. The DS75 thermostat has a dedicated open-drain output (O.S.) and programmable fault tolerance, which allows the user to define the number of consecutive error conditions that must occur before O.S is activated. There are two thermostatic operating modes that control thermostat operation based on user-defined trip-points (TOS and THYST).A block diagram of the DS75 is shown in Figure 1 and detailed pin descriptions are given in Table 2.ApplicationsAny Thermally Sensitive SystemCell Phone Base Stations Office EquipmentPersonal Computing
MAX6615AEE+T
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX6615/MAX6616 monitor two temperature channels, either the internal die temperature and the temperature of an external thermistor, or the temperatures of two external thermistors. The temperature data controls a PWM output signal to adjust the speed of a cooling fan, thereby minimizing noise when the system is running cool, but providing maximum cooling when power dissipation increases. The fans' tachometer output signals are monitored by the MAX6615/MAX6616 to detect fan failure. If a fan failure is detected, the active-low FAN_FAIL output is asserted. The 2-wire serial interface accepts standard system management bus (SMBus™) write byte, read byte, send byte, and receive byte commands to read the temperature data and program the alarm thresholds. The programmable alarm output can be used to generate interrupts, throttle signals, or overtemperature shutdown signals. The MAX6616 features six GPIOs to provide additional flexibility. All of the GPIOs power-up as inputs, with the exception of GPIO0, which powers up as either an input or an output as determined by connecting the PRESET pin to ground or VCC.The MAX6616 is available in a 24-pin QSOP package, while the MAX6615 is available in a 16-pin QSOP package. Both devices operate from a single-supply voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V, have operating temperature ranges of -40°C to +125°C, and consume just 500µA of supply current.ApplicationsDesktop ComputersNetworking EquipmentPower SuppliesServersWorkstations

DS28EA00U+
Analog Devices Inc.
The DS28EA00 is a digital thermometer with 9-bit (0.5°C) to 12-bit (1/16°C) resolution and alarm function with nonvolatile (NV), user-programmable upper and lower trigger points. Each DS28EA00 has its unique 64-bit registration number that is factory-programmed into the chip. Data is transferred serially through the 1-Wire® protocol, which requires only one data line and a ground for communication. The improved 1-Wire front end with hysteresis and glitch filter enables the DS28EA00 to perform reliably in large 1-Wire networks. Unlike other 1-Wire thermometers, the DS28EA00 has two additional pins to implement a sequence detect function. This feature allows the user to discover the registration numbers according to the physical device location in a chain, e.g., to measure the temperature in a storage tower at different height. If the sequence detect function is not needed, these pins can be used as general-purpose input or output. The DS28EA00 can derive the power for its operation directly from the data line ('parasite power'), eliminating the need for an external power supply.ApplicationsAny Rack-Based Electronic SystemClimate ControlData communication equipmentProcess Temperature MonitoringServersWireless Basestations

MAX6625PMTT+T
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX6625/MAX6626 combine a temperature sensor, a programmable overtemperature alarm, and an I²C-compatible serial interface into single compact packages. They convert their die temperatures into digital values using internal analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The result of the conversion is held in a temperature register, readable at any time through the serial interface. A dedicated alarm output, OT, activates if the conversion result exceeds the value programmed in the high-temperature register. A programmable fault queue sets the number of faults that must occur before the alarm activates, preventing spurious alarms in noisy environments. OT has programmable output polarity and operating modes. The MAX6625/MAX6626 feature a shutdown mode that saves power by turning off everything but the power-on reset and the I²C-compatible interface. Four separate addresses can be configured with the ADD pin, allowing up to four MAX6625/MAX6626 devices to be placed on the same bus. The MAX6625P/MAX6626P OT outputs are open drain, and the MAX6625R/MAX6626R OT outputs include internal pullup resistors. The MAX6625 has a 9-bit internal ADC and can function as a replacement for the LM75 in most applications. The MAX6626 has a 12-bit internal ADC. Both devices come in the space-saving 6-pin SOT23 package, or the 6-pin TDFN package.ApplicationsFan ControlIndustrial EquipmentSystem Temperature ControlTemperature Alarms
