DS1822+T&R
Analog Devices Inc.
The DS1822 is a digital thermometer with ±2°C accuracy over a -10°C to +85°C range. Data is read out over a 1-Wire® serial bus in 2's complement format with 9 to 12 bits of resolution (user-programmable).The DS1822 offers thermostatic functionality with over-temperature (TH) and under-temperature (TL) user-programmable setpoints stored in on-chip EEPROM. An internal flag is set when the measured temperature is greater than TH or less than TL. If thermostatic operation is not required, the two bytes of EEPROM reserved for TH and TL may be used for general-purpose nonvolatile storage. Each DS1822 features a unique and unchangeable 64-bit silicon serial number, which serves as the bus address for the sensor. This allows multiple DS1822 devices to coexist on the same 1-Wire bus. The DS1822 may be locally powered via a 3.0V to 5.5V supply, or power can be derived from the 1-Wire data line ('parasite power').The DS1822 is offered in 3-pin TO-92 (DS1822) and 150mil 8-pin SO (DS1822Z) packages. In addition, the DS1822 is available in a parasite-power only version, the DS1822-PAR. Also available is the high-precision DS18B20, which provides ±0.5°C accuracy and is software-compatible with the DS1822.ApplicationsFire Alarm SystemsHard Disk DriveStorage Area Networks (SANs)Telecommunications

DS18B20-PAR+T&R
Analog Devices Inc.
The DS18B20-PAR digital thermometer provides 9 to 12-bit centigrade temperature measurements and has an alarm function with nonvolatile user-programmable upper and lower trigger points. The DS18B20-PAR does not need an external power supply because it derives power directly from the data line ('parasite power'). The DS18B20-PAR communicates over a 1-Wire® bus, which by definition requires only one data line (and ground) for communication with a central microprocessor. It has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +100°C and is accurate to ±0.5°C over a range of -10°C to +85°C.Each DS18B20-PAR has a unique 64-bit identification code, which allows multiple DS18B20-PARs to function on the same 1-wire bus; thus, it is simple to use one microprocessor to control many DS18B20-PARs distributed over a large area. Applications that can benefit from this feature include HVAC environmental controls, temperature monitoring systems inside buildings, equipment or machinery, and process monitoring and control systems.ApplicationsRemote Sensing Applications

The DS60 analog temperature sensor measures its own temperature and provides these measurements to the user in the form of an output voltage (VO) that is proportional to degrees centigrade. The output voltage characteristic is factory-calibrated for a typical sensitivity of +6.25mV/°C and a DC offset of +424mV at 0°C. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C, corresponding to an output voltage range of +174mV to +1205mV. The DS60 has ±2.0°C accuracy over a 0°C to +85°C temperature range and over the full +2.7V to +5.5V power supply range. Its accuracy is within ±3.0°C over the operating temperature range and full supply range. Because the output voltage is positive for the entire temperature range, there is no need for a negative power supply. The DS60's tiny size, low-current operation, and wide supply range make it ideal for use in battery-powered applications. To further reduce power dissipation, the DS60 can be powered by any logic gate output that is capable of sourcing 125µA, which allows the DS60 to be switched to a zero power standby state when the gate is forced to a logic 0.ApplicationsAutomotiveMedical EquipmentVending Machine

The DS75 digital thermometer and thermostat provides 9, 10, 11, or 12-bit digital temperature readings over a -55°C to +125°C range with ±2°C accuracy over a -25°C to +100°C range. At power-up, the DS75 defaults to 9-bit resolution for software compatibility with the LM75. Communication with the DS75 is achieved via a simple 2-wire serial interface. Three address pins allow up to eight DS75 devices to operate on the same 2-wire bus, which greatly simplifies distributed temperature sensing applications. The DS75 thermostat has a dedicated open-drain output (O.S.) and programmable fault tolerance, which allows the user to define the number of consecutive error conditions that must occur before O.S is activated. There are two thermostatic operating modes that control thermostat operation based on user-defined trip-points (TOS and THYST).A block diagram of the DS75 is shown in Figure 1 and detailed pin descriptions are given in Table 2.ApplicationsAny Thermally Sensitive SystemCell Phone Base Stations Office EquipmentPersonal Computing

MAX6642ATT92+T
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX6642 precise, two-channel digital temperature sensor accurately measures the temperature of its own die and a remote PN junction and reports the temperature data over a 2-wire serial interface. The remote PN junction is typically a substrate PNP transistor on the die of a CPU, ASIC, GPU, or FPGA. The remote PN junction can also be a discrete diode-connected small-signal transistor. The 2-wire serial interface accepts standard system management bus (SMBus™), Write Byte, Read Byte, Send Byte, and Receive Byte commands to read the temperature data and to program the alarm thresholds. To enhance system reliability, the MAX6642 includes an SMBus timeout. The temperature data format is 10 bits with the least significant bit (LSB) corresponding to +0.25°C. The active-low ALERT output asserts when the local or remote overtemperature thresholds are violated. A fault queue can be used to prevent the active-low ALERT output from setting until two consecutive faults have been detected.Measurements can be done autonomously or in a single-shot mode.Remote accuracy is ±1°C maximum error between +60°C and +100°C. The MAX6642 operates from -40°C to +125°C, and measures remote temperatures between 0°C and +150°C. The MAX6642 is available in a 6-pin TDFN package with an exposed pad.ApplicationsDesktop ComputersGraphic CardsNotebook ComputersServersTest and Measurement EquipmentThin ClientsWorkstations
