The ADuC841/ADuC842/ADuC843 are complete smart transducer front ends, that integrates a high performance self-calibrating multichannel ADC, a dual DAC, and an optimized single-cycle 20 MHz 8-bit MCU (8051 instruction set compatible)on a single chip.The ADuC841 and ADuC842 are identical with the exception of the clock oscillator circuit; the ADuC841 is clocked directly from an external crystal up to 20 MHz whereas the ADuC842 uses a 32 kHz crystal with an on-chip PLL generating a programmable core clock up to 16.78 MHz.The ADuC843 is identical to the ADuC842 except that the ADuC843 has no analog DAC outputs.The microcontroller is an optimized 8052 core offering up to 20 MIPS peak performance. Three different memory options are available offering up to 62 kBytes of nonvolatile Flash/EE program memory. Four kBytes of nonvolatile Flash/EE data memory, 256 bytes RAM, and 2 kBytes of extended RAM are also integrated on-chip. The parts also incorporate additional analog functionality with two 12-bit DACs, power supply monitor, and a band gap reference. On-chip digital peripherals include two 16-bit Σ-Δ. DACs, a dual output 16-bit PWM, a watchdog timer, a time interval counter, three timers/counters, and three serial I/O ports (SPI, I2C, and UART).On the ADuC812 and the ADuC832, the I2C and SPI interfaces share some of the same pins. For backwards compatibility, this is also the case for the ADuC841/ADuC842/ADuC843.However, there is also the option to allow SPI operate separately on P3.3, P3.4, and P3.5, while I2C uses the standard pins. All operate over a supply range of 1.8V to 5.5V, which permits operation directly from two alkaline, NiCd or NiMH cells. An integrated DC-to-DC converter generates power supplies for driving RS-232 levels. A logic supply pin allows easy interfacing with different logic levels independent of the DC-DC supply.These parts are compatible with the TIA/EIA-232-F standard. Driver outputs are protected from overload and can be shorted to ground or up to ±15V without damage. The AD210 is the latest member of a new generation of low cost, high performance isolation amplifiers. This three-port, wide bandwidth isolation amplifier is manufactured with face-mounted components in an automated assembly process. The AD210 combines design expertise with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology to produce an extremely compact and economical isolator whose performance and abundant user features far exceed those offered in more expensive devices. The AD210 provides a complete isolation function with both signal and power isolation supplied via transformer coupling internal to the module. The AD210's functionally complete design, powered by a single +15 V supply, eliminates the need for an external DC/DC converter, unlike optically coupled isolation devices. The AD421 is a complete, loop-powered, digital to 4-20 mA converter, designed to meet the needs of smart transmitter manufacturers in the Industrial Control industry. It provides a high precision, fully integrated, low cost solution in a compact 16-pin package. The AD421 is ideal for extending the resolution of smart 4-20 mA transmitters at very low cost. The AD421 includes a selectable regulator that is used to power itself and other devices in the transmitter. This regulator provides either a +5 V, +3.3 V or +3 V regulated output voltage. The part also contains +1.25 V and +2.5 V precision references. The AD421 thus eliminates the need for a discrete regulator and voltage reference. The only external components required are a number of passive components and a pass transistor to span large loop voltages.The AD421 can be used with standard HART FSK protocol communication circuitry without any degradation in specified performance. The high speed serial interface is capable of operating at 10 Mbps and allows for simple connection to commonly-used microprocessors and microcontrollers via a standard three-wire serial interface.The sigma-delta architecture of the DAC guarantees 16-bit monotonicity while the integral nonlinearity for the AD421 is ±0.01%. The part provides a zero scale 4 mA output current with ±0.1% offset error and a 20 mA full-scale output current with ±0.2% gain error.The AD421 is available in a 16-pin, 0.3 inch-wide, plastic DIP and a 16-lead, 0.3 inch-wide, SOIC package. The AD5200 and AD5201 are programmable resistor devices, with 256 positions and 33 positions respectively, that can be digitally controlled through a 3-wire SPI serial interface. The terms programmable resistor, variable resistor (VR), and RDAC are commonly used interchangeably to refer to digital potentiometers. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment functionas a potentiometer or variable resistor. Both AD5200 / AD5201 contain a single variable resistor in the compact MSOP package. Each device contains a fixed wiper resistance at the wiper contact that taps the programmable resistance at a point determined by a digital code. The code is loaded in the serialinput register. The resistance between the wiper and either end point of the programmable resistor varies linearly with respect to the digital code transferred into the VR latch. Each variable resistor offers a completely programmable value of resistance, between the A terminal and the wiper, or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A-to-B terminal resistance of 10 kΩ or 50 kΩ has a nominal temperature coefficient of 500 ppm/°C. The VR has a VR latch that holds its programmed resistance value. The VR latch is updated from an SPI-compatible serial-to-parallel shift register that is loaded from a standard 3-wire serial-input digital interface. Eight data bits for the AD5200 and six databits for the AD5201 make up the data word that is clocked into the serial input register. The internal preset forces the wiper to the midscale position by loading 80H and 10H into AD5200 and AD5201 VR latches respectively. The SHDN pin forces the resistor to an end-to-end open-circuit condition on the A terminal and shorts the wiper to the B terminal, achieving a microwatt power shutdown state. When SHDN is returned to logic high, the previous latch setting puts the wiper in the same resistance setting prior to shutdown. The AD538 is a monolithic real-time computational circuit which provides precision analog multiplication, division, and exponentiation. The combination of low input and output offset voltages and excellent linearity results in accurate computation over an unusually wide input dynamic range. Laser wafer trimming makes multiplication and division with errors as low as 0.25% of reading possible, while typical output offsets of 100 microV or less add to the overall off-the-shelf performance level. Real-time analog signal processing is further enhanced by the device's 400 kHz bandwidth.The AD538's overall transfer function is Vo=Vy(Vz/Vx)m. Programming a particular function is via pin strapping. No external components are required for one-quadrant (positive input) multiplication and division. Two-quadrant (bipolar numerator) division is possible with the use of external level shifting and scaling resistors. The desired scale factor for both multiplication and division can be set using the on-chip +2 V or +10 V references, or controlled externally to provide simultaneous multiplication and division. Exponentiation with an M value from 0.2 to 5 can be implemented with the addition of one or two external resistors. Direct log ratio computation is possible by utilizing only the log ratio and output sections of the chip. Access to the multiple summing junctions adds further to the AD538's flexibility. Finally, a wide power-supply range of ±4.5 V to ±18 V allows operation from standard ±5 V, ± 12 V and ± 15 V supplies. The AD538 is available in two accuracy grades (A and B) over the industrial (-25°C to +85°C) temperature range and one grade (S) over the military (-55°C to +125°C) temperature range. The device is packaged in an 18-pin TO-118 hermetic size-brazed ceramic DIP. The AD565A and AD566A are fast 12-bit digital-to-analog converters which incorporate the latest advances in analog circuit design to achieve high speeds at low cost.The AD565A and AD566A use 12 precision, high-speed bipolar current-steering switches, control amplifier and a laser-trimmed thin-film resistor network to produce a very fast, high accuracy analog output current. The AD565A also includes a buried Zener reference that features low-noise, long-term stability and temperature drift characteristics comparable to the best discrete reference diodes.The combination of performance and flexibility in the AD565A and AD566A has resulted from major innovations in circuit design, an important new high-speed bipolar process, and continuing advances in laser-wafer-trimming techniques (LWT). The AD565A and AD566A have a 10-90% full-scale transition time less than 35 ns and settle to within ±1/2 LSB in 250 ns max (350 ns for AD566A). Both are laser-trimmed at the wafer level to ±1/8 LSB typical linearity and are specified to ±1/4 LSB max error (K and T grades) at +25°C. High speed and accuracy make the AD565A and AD566A the ideal choice for high-speed display drivers as well as fast analog-to-digital converters.The laser trimming process which provides the excellent linearity is also used to trim both the absolute value and the temperature coefficient of the reference of the AD565A resulting in a typical full-scale gain TC of 10 ppm/°C. When tighter TC performance is required or when a system reference is available, the AD566A may be used with an external reference.AD565A and AD566A are available in four performance grades. The J and K are specified for use over the 0°C to +70°C temperature range while the S and T grades are specified for the -55&176;C to +125°C range. The D grades are all packaged in a 24-pin, hermetically sealed, ceramic, dual-in-line package. The JR grade is packaged in a 28-pin plastic SOIC.

The AD660 DACPORT® is a complete 16-bit monolithic digital-to-analog converter with an on-board voltage reference, double-buffered latches, and an output amplifier. It is manufactured on the Analog Devices, Inc., BiMOS II process. This process allows the fabrication of low power CMOS logic functions on the same chip as high precision bipolar linear circuitry.The AD660 architecture ensures 15-bit monotonicity over time and temperature. Integral and differential nonlinearity is maintained at ±0.003% maximum. The on-chip output amplifier provides a voltage output settling time of 10 μs to within ½ LSB for a full-scale step.The AD660 has an extremely flexible digital interface. Data can be loaded into the AD660 in serial mode or as two 8-bit bytes. This is made possible by two digital input pins that have dual functions. The serial mode input format is pin selectable to be MSB or LSB first. The serial output pin allows the user to daisy-chain several AD660 devices by shifting the data through the input latch into the next DAC, thus minimizing the number of control lines required to SIN, CS and LDAC. The byte mode input format is also flexible in that the high byte or low byte data can be loaded first. The double buffered latch structure eliminates data skew errors and provides for simultaneous updating of DACs in a multiDAC system.The AD660 is available in five grades. AN and BN versions are specified from −40°C to +85°C and are packaged in a 24-lead300 mil plastic DIP. AR and BR versions are also specified from −40°C to +85°C and are packaged in a 24-lead SOIC. The SQ version is packaged in a 24-lead 300 mil CERDIP package and is also available compliant to MIL-STD-883. Refer to the AD660SQ/883B military data sheet for specifications and test conditions.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS The AD660 is a complete 16-bit DAC, with a voltage reference, double-buffered latches, and an output amplifier on a single chip. The internal buried Zener reference is laser trimmed to 10.000 V with a ±0.1% maximum error and a temperature drift performance of ±15 ppm/°C. The reference is available for external applications. The output range of the AD660 is pin programmable and can be set to provide a unipolar output range of 0 V to 10 V or a bipolar output range of −10 V to +10 V. No external components are required. The AD660 is both dc and ac specified. DC specifications include ±1 LSB INL and ±1 LSB DNL errors. AC specifications include 0.009% THD + N and 83 dB SNR. The double-buffered latches on the AD660 eliminate data skew errors and allow simultaneous updating of DACs in multiDAC applications. The clear function can asynchronously set the output to 0 V regardless of whether the DAC is in unipolar or bipolar mode. The output amplifier settles within 10 μs to ±½ LSB for a full-scale step and within 2.5 μs for a 1 LSB step over temperature. The output glitch is typically 15 nV-s when a full-scale step is loaded.
