EVAL-ADF7023DB3Z

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADF7023 is a very low power, high performance, highly integrated 2FSK/GFSK/OOK/MSK/GMSK transceiver designed for operation in the 862 MHz to 928 MHz and 431 MHz to 464 MHz frequency bands, which cover the worldwide license-free ISM bands at 433 MHz, 868 MHz, and 915 MHz. It is suitable for circuit applications that operate under the European ETSI EN300-220, the North American FCC (Part 15), the Chinese short-range wireless regulatory standards, or other similar regional standards. Data rates from 1 kbps to 300 kbps are supported. The transmit RF synthesizer contains a VCO and a low noise fractional-N PLL with an output channel frequency resolution of 400 Hz. The VCO operates at 2× or 4×, the fundamental frequency to reduce spurious emissions. The receive and transmit synthesizer bandwidths are automatically, and independently, configured to achieve optimum phase noise, modulation quality, and settling time. The transmitter output power is programmable from −20 dBm to +13.5 dBm, with automatic PA ramping to meet transient spurious specifications. The part possesses both single-ended and differential PAs, which allows for Tx antenna diversity. The receiver is exceptionally linear, achieving an IP3 specification of −12.2 dBm and −11.5 dBm at maximum gain and minimum gain, respectively, and an IP2 specification of 18.5 dBm and 27 dBm at maximum gain and minimum gain, respectively. The receiver achieves an interference blocking specification of 66 dB at ±2 MHz offset and 74 dB at ±10 MHz offset. Thus, the part is extremely resilient to the presence of interferers in spectrally noisy environments. The receiver features a novel, high speed, automatic frequency control (AFC) loop, allowing the PLL to find and correct any RF frequency errors in the recovered packet.A patent pending, image rejection calibration scheme is available through a program download. The algorithm does not require the use of an external RF source nor does it require any user intervention once initiated. The results of the calibration can be stored in nonvolatile memory for use on subsequent power-ups of the transceiver.See data sheet for additional information.Applications Smart metering IEEE 802.15.4g Wireless MBUS Home automation Process and building control Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) Wireless healthcare

EVAL-SSM2375Z

Analog Devices Inc.
The SSM2375 is a fully integrated, high efficiency, Class-D audioamplifier. It is designed to maximize performance for mobilephone applications. The application circuit requires a minimumof external components and operates from a single 2.5 V to 5.5 Vsupply. It is capable of delivering 3 W of continuous output powerwith 100 dB.Spread-spectrum pulse density modulation (PDM) is used toprovide lower EMI-radiated emissions compared with otherClass-D architectures. The inherent randomized nature ofspread-spectrum PDM eliminates the clock intermodulation(beating effect) of several amplifiers in close proximity. The SSM2375 includes an optional modulation select pin(ultralow EMI emissions mode) that significantly reduces theradiated emissions at the Class-D outputs, particularly above100 MHz. In ultralow EMI emissions mode, the SSM2375can pass FCC Class B radiated emission testing with 50 cm,unshielded speaker cable without any external filtering. The device also includes a highly flexible gain select pin thatallows the user to select a gain of 0 dB, 3 dB, 6 dB, 9 dB, or12 dB. The gain selection feature improves gain matchingbetween multiple SSM2375 devices within a single applicationas compared to using external resistors to set the gain. The SSM2375 has a micropower shutdown mode with a typicalshutdown current of 20 nA. Shutdown is enabled by applyinga logic low to the SD pin.The device also includes pop-and-click suppression circuitry. This suppression circuitry minimizes voltage glitches at theoutput during turn-on and turn-off, reducing audible noiseon activation and deactivation.Other features that simplify system-level integration of theSSM2375 include input low-pass filtering to suppress out-of-bandDAC noise interference to the PDM modulator and fixed-inputimpedance to simplify component selection across multipleplatform production builds. The SSM2375 is specified over the industrial temperature rangeof −40°C to +85°C. It has built-in thermal shutdown and outputshort-circuit protection. It is available in a halide-free, 9-ball,1.5 mm × 1.5 mm wafer level chip scale package (WLCSP).Applications Mobile phones MP3 players Portable electronics

It also features current and voltage readback via an integrated 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), accessed using a PMBus™ interface. The load current is measured using an internal current sense amplifier that measures the voltage across a sense resistor in the power path via the SENSE+ and SENSE− pins. A default limit of 20 mV is set, but this limit can be adjusted, if required, using a resistor divider network from the internal reference voltage to the ISET pin.The ADM1275 limits the current through the sense resistor by controlling the gate voltage of an external N-channel FET in the power path, via the GATE pin. The sense voltage—and, therefore, the load current—is maintained below the preset maximum. The ADM1275 protects the external FET by limiting the time that the FET remains on while the current is at its maximum value. This current limit time is set by the choice of capacitor connected to the TIMER pin. In addition, a foldback resistor network can be used to actively lower the current limit as the voltage across the FET is increased. This helps to maintain constant power in the FET and allows the safe operating area (SOA) to be adhered to in an effective manner. In case of a short-circuit event, a fast internal overcurrent detector responds within 370 ns and signals the gate to shut down. A 1500 mA pull-down device ensures a fast FET response. The ADM1275 features overvoltage and undervoltage protection, programmed using external resistor dividers on the UV and OV pins. A PWRGD signal can be used to detect when the output supply is valid, using the FLB pin to monitor the output. GPO pins can be configured as various output signals that can be asserted when a programmed current or voltage level is reached. The 12-bit ADC can measure the current in the sense resistor, as well as the supply voltage on the SENSE+ pin or the output voltage. A PMBus interface allows a controller to read current and voltage data from the ADC. Measurements can be initiated by a PMBus command. Alternatively, the ADC can run continuously, and the user can read the latest conversion data whenever required. Up to four unique PMBus addresses can be selected, depending on the way that the ADR pin is connected. The ADM1275-1 and ADM1275-3 are available in a 20-lead QSOP and 20-lead LFCSP and have a LATCH pin that can be configured for automatic retry or latch-off when an overcurrent fault occurs. The ADM1275-2 is available in a 16-lead QSOP with latch-off mode only.Applications Power monitoring and control/power budgeting Central office equipment Telecommunication and data communication equipment PCs/servers
