AD7862ARSZ-2
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD7862 is a high speed, low power, dual 12-bit A/D converter that operates from a single +5 V supply. The part contains two 4 µs successive approximation ADCs, two track/ hold amplifiers, an internal +2.5 V reference and a high speed parallel interface. There are four analog inputs that are grouped into two channels (A & B) selected by the A0 input. Each channel has two inputs (VA1 & VA2 or VB1 & VB2) that can be sampled and converted simultaneously thus preserving the relative phase information of the signals on both analog inputs. The part accepts an analog input range of ±10 V (AD7862-10), ±2.5 V (AD7862-3) and 02.5 V (AD7862-2). Overvoltage protection on the analog inputs for the part allows the input voltage to go to ±17 V, ±7 V or +7 V, respectively, without causing damage.A single conversion start signal (CONVST) places both track/ holds into hold simultaneously and initiates conversion on both inputs. The BUSY signal indicates the end of conversion, and at this time the conversion results for both channels are available to be read. The first read after a conversion accesses the result from VA1 or VB1, while the second read accesses the result from VA2 or VB2, depending on whether the multiplexer select A0 is low or high, respectively. Data is read from the part via a 12-bit parallel data bus with standard CS and RD signals. In addition to the traditional dc accuracy specifications such as linearity, full-scale and offset errors, the part is also specified for dynamic performance parameters including harmonic distortion and signal-to-noise ratio. The AD7862 is fabricated in Analog Devices' Linear Compatible CMOS (LC2MOS) process, a mixed technology process that combines precision bipolar circuits with low power CMOS logic. It is available in 28-lead SSOP, SOIC and DIP.APPLICATIONS AC Motor Control Uninterrupted Power Supplies Data Acquisition Systems CommunicationsPRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS The AD7862 features two complete ADC functions allowing simultaneous sampling and conversion of two channels. Each ADC has a 2-channel input mux. The conversion result for both channels is available 3.6 µs after initiating conversion. The AD7862 operates from a single +5 V supply and consumes 60 mW typ. The automatic power-down mode, where the part goes into power down once conversion is complete and “wakes up” before the next conversion cycle, makes the AD7862 ideal for battery-powered or portable applications. The part offers a high speed parallel interface for easy connection to microprocessors, microcontrollers and digital signal processors. The part is offered in three versions with different analog input ranges. The AD7862-10 offers the standard industrial input range of ±10 V; the AD7862-3 offers the common signal processing input range of ±2.5 V; while the AD7862-2 can be used in unipolar 0 V – +2.5 V applications. The part features very tight aperture delay matching between the two input sample-and-hold amplifiers.

AD790JRZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD790 is a fast (45 ns), precise voltage comparator, with a number of features that make it exceptionally versatile and easy to use. The AD790 may operate from either a single +5 V supply or a dual ±15 V supply. In the single-supply mode, the AD790's inputs maybe referred to ground, a feature not found in other comparators. In the dual-supply mode it has the unique ability of handling a maximum differential voltage of 15 V across its input terminals, easing their interfacing to large amplitude and dynamic signals. The device is fabricated using Analog Devices' Complementary Bipolar (CB) process - which gives the AD790's combination of fast response time and outstanding input voltage resolution (1mV max). To preserve its speed and accuracy, the AD790 incorporates a 'low glitch' output stage that does not exhibit the large current spikes normally found in TTL or CMOS output stages. Its controlled switching reduces power supply disturbances that can feed back to the input and cause undesired oscillations. The AD790 also has a latching function which makes it suitable for applications requiring synchronous operation. The AD790 is available in five performance grades. The AD790J and the AD790K are rated over the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. The AD790a and AD790B are rated over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. The AD790S is rated over the military temperature range of −55°C to +125°C and is available to MIL-STD-883B, Rev. C.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS The AD790’s combination of speed, precision, versatility and low cost makes it suitable as a general purpose comparator in analog signal processing and data acquisition systems. Built-in hysteresis and a low-glitch output stage minimize the chance of unwanted oscillations, making the AD790 easier to use than standard open-loop comparators. The hysteresis combined with a wide input voltage range enables the AD790 to respond to both slow, low level (e.g., 10 mV) signals and fast, large amplitude (e.g., 10 V) signals. A wide variety of supply voltages is acceptable for operation of the AD790, ranging from single 5 V to dual +5 V/–12 V, ±5 V, or +5 V/±15 V supplies. The AD790’s power dissipation is the lowest of any comparator in its speed range. The AD790’s output swing is symmetric between VLOGIC and ground, thus providing a predictable output under a wide range of input and output conditions.APPLICATIONS Zero-Crossing Detectors Overvoltage Detectors Pulse-Width Modulators Precision Rectifiers Discrete A/D Converters Delta-Sigma Modulator A/Ds

AD7992BRMZ-1
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD7992 is a 12-bit, low power, successive approximation ADC with an I2 C-compatible interface. The part operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V power supply and features a 2 µs conversion time. The part contains a 2-channel multiplexer and track-and-hold amplifier that can handle input frequencies up to 11 MHz. The AD7992 provides a 2-wire serial interface compatible with I2C interfaces. The part comes in two versions, the AD7992-0 and the AD7992-1, and each version allows for at least two different I2C addresses. The AD7992-0 supports standard and fast I2C interface modes, and the AD7992-1 supports standard, fast, and high speed I2C interface modes. The AD7992 normally remains in a shutdown state while not converting, and powers up only for conversions. The conversion process can be controlled using the CONVST pin, by a command mode where conversions occur across I2C write operations, or an automatic conversion interval mode selected through software control. The AD7992 requires an external reference in the range of 1.2 V to VDD. This allows the widest dynamic input range to the ADC. On-chip limit registers can be programmed with high and low limits for the conversion result, and an open-drain, out-of-range indicator output (ALERT) becomes active when the conversion result violates the programmed high or low limits. This output can be used as an interrupt.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS 2 µs conversion time and low power consumption. I2C-compatible serial interface with pin-selectable addresses. Two AD7992 versions allow five AD7992 devices to be connected to the same serial bus. The part features automatic shutdown while not converting to maximize power efficiency. Current consumption is 1 µA max when in shutdown mode at 3 V. Reference can be driven up to the power supply. Out-of-range indicator that can be software disabled or enabled. One-shot and automatic conversion rates. Registers store minimum and maximum conversion results.
