The AD688 is a high precision ±10 V tracking reference. Low tracking error, low initial error and low temperature drift give the AD688 reference absolute ±10 V accuracy performance previously unavailable in monolithic form. The AD688 uses a proprietary ion-implanted buried Zener diode, and laser-wafer-drift- trimming of high stability thin-film resistors to provide outstanding performance at low cost.The AD688 includes the basic reference cell and three additional amplifiers. The amplifiers are laser-trimmed for low offset and low drift and maintain the accuracy of the reference. The amplifiers are configured to allow Kelvin connections to the load and/or boosters for driving long lines or high current loads, delivering the full accuracy of the AD688 where it is required in the application circuit.The low initial error allows the AD688 to be used as a system reference in precision measurement applications requiring 12-bit absolute accuracy. In such systems, the AD688 can provide a known voltage for system calibration and the cost of periodic recalibration can therefore be eliminated. Furthermore, the mechanical instability of a trimming potentiometer and the potential for improper calibration can be eliminated by using the AD688 and calibration software.The AD688 is available in three versions. The AD688AQ and BQ grades are packaged in 16-pin cerdip (0.3') packages and are specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C. The AD688SQ grade is specified for operation from -55°C to +125°C.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS Precision Tracking. The AD688 offers precision tracking ±10 V Kelvin output connections with no external components. Tracking error is less than 1.5 mV and fine-trim is available for applications requiring exact symmetry between the +10 V and −10 V outputs.  Accuracy. The AD688 offers 12-bit absolute accuracy without any user adjustments. Optional fine-trim connections are provided for applications requiring higher precision. The fine-trimming does not alter the operating conditions of the Zener or the buffer amplifiers and thus does not increase the temperature drift.  Low output noise. Output noise of the AD688 is low— typically 6 μVp-p. A pin is provided for broadband noise filtering using an external capacitor.

The AD7225 contains four 8-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converters, with output buffer amplifiers and interface logic on a single monolithic chip. Each D/A converter has a separate reference input terminal. No external trims are required to achieve full specified performance for the part.The double-buffered interface logic consists of two 8-bit registers per channel -an input register and a DAC register. Control inputs A0 and A1 determine which input register is loaded when WR goes low. Only the data held in the DAC registers determines the analog outputs of the converters. The double-buffering allows simultaneous update of all four outputs under control of LDAC. All logic inputs are TTL and CMOS (5V) level compatible and the control logic is speed compatible with most 8-bit microprocessors.Specified performance is guaranteed for input reference voltages from +2V to +12.5V when using dual supplies. Each output buffer amplifier is capable of developing +10V across a 2 K(Ω) load.The AD7225 is fabricated on an all ion-implanted high speed Linear Compatible CMOS (LC2MOS) process which has been specifically developed to integrate high-speed digital logic circuits and precision analog circuitry on the same chip.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS DACs and Amplifiers on CMOS Chip. The AD7225 offers great flexibility in dealing with input signals, with a separate reference input provided for each DAC and each reference having variable input voltage capability.

The AD7304 / AD7305 are quad, 8-bit DACs that operate from a single +3 V to +5 V supply or ±5 V supplies. The AD7304 has a serial interface, while the AD7305 has a parallel interface. Internal precision buffers swing rail-to-rail. The reference input range includes both supply rails allowing for positive or negative full-scale output voltages. Operation is guaranteed over the supply voltage range of +2.7 V, +5.5 V to ±5 V consuming less than 9 mW from a +3 V supply. The full-scale voltage output is determined by the external reference input voltage applied. The rail-to-rail VREF input to DAC VOUT allows for a full-scale voltage set equal the positive supply VDD, the negative supply VSS or any value in between.The AD7304's doubled-buffered serial-data interface offers high-speed, three-wire, SPI and micro controller compatible inputs using data in (SDI), clock (CLK) and chip select (CS) pins. Additionally, an internal power-on reset sets the output to zero scale.The parallel input AD7305 uses a standard address decode along with the WR control line to load data into the input registers.The double buffered architecture allows all four input registers to be preloaded with new values followed by a LDAC control strobe which copies all the new data into the DAC registers thereby updating the analog output values. The AD7305 is pin-compatible with the popular industry standard AD7226 when operating from less than +5.5 V.An internal power ON reset places both parts in the zero-scale state at turn ON. A 40 µA power shutdown (SHDN) feature is activated on both parts by tri-stating the SDI/SHDN pin on the AD7304, and tri-stating the A0/SHDN address pin on the AD7305. The AD7304 / AD7305 are specified over the extended industrial (−40°C to +85°C), and the automotive (−40°C to +125°C) temperature ranges.

The AD7887 is a high speed, low power, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.25 V power supply. The AD7887 is capable of 125 kSPS throughput rate. The input track-and-hold acquires a signal in 500 ns and features a single-ended sampling scheme. The output coding for the AD7887 is straight binary, and the part is capable of converting full power signals of up to 2.5 MHz.The AD7887 can be configured for either dual- or single-channel operation via the on-chip control register. There is a default single-channel mode that allows the AD7887 to be operated as a read-only ADC. In single-channel operation, there is one analog input (AIN0) and the AIN1/VREF pin assumes its VREF function. This VREF pin allows the user access to the part’s internal 2.5 V reference, or the VREF pin can be overdriven by an external reference to provide the reference voltage for the part. This external reference voltage has a range of 2.5 V to VDD. The analog input range on AIN0 is 0 to VREF.In dual-channel operation, the AIN1/VREF pin assumes its AIN1 function, providing a second analog input channel. In this case, the reference voltage for the part is provided via the VDD pin. As a result, the input voltage range on both the AIN0 and AIN1 inputs is 0 to VDD.CMOS construction ensures low power dissipation of typically 2 mW for normal operation and 3 μW in power-down mode. The AD8031 (single) is a single supply voltage feedback amplifier that features high speed performance with 80 MHz of small signal bandwidth, 30 V/µs slew rate and 125 ns settling time. This performance is possible while consuming less than 4.0 mW of power from a single +5 V supply. This feature increases the operation time of high speed, battery-powered systems without compromising dynamic performance.The AD8031 has true single supply capability with rail-to-rail input and output characteristics and is specified for +2.7 V, +5 V, and ±5 V supplies. The input voltage range can extend to 500 mV beyond each rail. The output voltage swings to within 20 mV of each rail providing the maximum output dynamic range.The AD8031 also offers excellent signal quality for only 800 µA of supply current per amplifier; THD is -62 dBc with a 2 V p-p, 1 MHz output signal, and -86 dBc for a 100 kHz, 4.6 V p-p signal on +5 V supply. The low distortion and fast settling time make it ideal as a buffer to single supply ADCs.Operating on supplies from +2.7 V to +12 V and dual supplies up to ±6 V, the AD8031 is ideal for a wide range of applications, from battery operated systems with large bandwidth requirements to high speed systems where component density requires lower power dissipation.
