AD737-EVALZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD737 is a low power, precision, monolithic, true rms-to-dc converter. It is laser trimmed to provide a maximum error of ±0.2 mV ± 0.3% of reading with sine wave inputs. Furthermore, it maintains high accuracy while measuring a wide range of input waveforms, including variable duty cycle pulses and triac (phase) controlled sine waves. The low cost and small physical size of this converter make it suitable for upgrading the performance of non-rms precision rectifiers in many applications. Compared to these circuits, the AD737 offers higher accuracy at equal or lower cost. The AD737 computes the rms value of both the ac and dc input voltages, and is ac-coupled by adding an input capacitor. In this mode, the AD737 can resolve input signal levels of 100 μV rms or less, despite variations in temperature or supply voltage. High accuracy is maintained for input waveforms with crest factors of 1 to 3 and crest factors at 2.5% or less with respect to full-scale input level. The AD737 has no output buffer amplifier, thereby significantly reducing dc offset errors occurring at the output, which makes the device highly compatible with high input impedance ADCs.Requiring only 160 μA of power supply current, the AD737 is optimized for use in portable multimeters and other battery-powered applications. In power-down mode, the standby supply current in is typically 25 μA.The AD737 has both high (1012 Ω) and low impedance input options. The high-Z FET input connects high source impedance input attenuators, and a low impedance (8 kΩ) input accepts rms voltages of up to 0.9 V while operating from the minimum power supply voltage of ±2.5 V. The two inputs can be used either single ended or differentially. The AD737 achieves 1% of reading error bandwidth, exceeding 10 kHz for input amplitudes from 20 mV rms to 200 mV rms, while consuming only 0.72 mW.The AD737 is available in two performance grades. The AD737J and AD737K grades operate over the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. The AD737JR-5 is tested with supply voltages of ±2.5 V dc. The AD737A grade operates over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. The AD737 is available in two low cost, 8-lead packages: PDIP and SOIC_N.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS Computes average rectified, absolute, or true rms value of a signal regardless of waveform. Only one external component, an averaging capacitor, is required for the AD737 to perform true rms measurement. The standby power consumption of 125 μW makes the AD737 suitable for battery-powered applications.

AD7537KRZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD7537 contains two 12-bit current output DAC's on one monolithic chip. A seperate reference input is provided for each DAC. The dual DAC saves valuable board space, and the monolithic construction ensures excellent thermal tracking. Both DAC's are guaranteed 12-bit monotonic over the full temperature range. The AD7537 has a 2-byte (8LSBs, 4MSBs) loading structure. It is designed for right-justified data format. The control signals for registering loading are A0, A1, CS, WR and UPD. Data is loaded to the input registers when CS and WR are low. To transfer this data to the DAC registers, UPD must be taken low with WR.Added features on the AD7537 include an asynchronous CLR line which is very useful in calibration routines. When this is taken low, all registers are cleares. The double buffering of the data inputs allows simultaneous update of both DAC's. Also, each DAC has a seperate AGND line. This increases the device versatility; for instance one DAC may be operated with AGND biased while the other is connected in the standard configuration. The AD7537 is manufactured using the Linear Compatible CMOS (LC²MOS) process. It is speed compatible with most microprocessors and accepts TTL, 74HC an 5V CMOS logic level inputs.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS DAC to DAC Matching: Since both DACs are fabricated on the same chip, precise matching and tracking is inherent. Many applications which are not practical using two discrete DACs are now possible. Typical matching: 0.5%. Small Package Size: The AD7537 is packaged in small 24-pin 0.3' DIPs and in 28-terminal surface mount packages. Wide Power Supply Tolerance: The device operates on a +12 V to +15 V VDD, with ±10% tolerance on this nominal figure. All specifications are guaranteed over this range.APPLICATIONS Automatic Test Equipment Programmable Filters Audio Applications Synchro Applications Process Control

AD7760BSVZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD7760 is a high performance, 24-bit Σ-Δ analog-to-digital converter (ADC). It combines wide input bandwidth and high speed with the benefits of Σ-Δ conversion to achieve a performance of 100 dB SNR at 2.5 MSPS, making it ideal for high speed data acquisition. Wide dynamic range combined with significantly reduced antialiasing requirements simplify the design process. An integrated buffer to drive the reference, a differential amplifier for signal buffering and level shifting, an overrange flag, internal gain and offset registers, and a low-pass digital FIR filter make the AD7760 a compact, highly integrated data acquisition device requiring minimal peripheral component selection. In addition, the device offers programmable decimation rates, and the digital FIR filter can be adjusted if the default characteristics are not appropriate for the application. The AD7760 is ideal for applications demanding high SNR without a complex front-end signal processing design. The differential input is sampled at up to 40 MSPS by an analog modulator. The modulator output is processed by a series of low-pass filters, with the final filter having default or user-programmable coefficients. The sample rate, filter corner frequencies, and output word rate are set by a combination of the external clock frequency and the configuration registers of the AD7760. The reference voltage supplied to the AD7760 determines the analog input range. With a 4 V reference, the analog input range is ±3.2 V differential biased around a common mode of 2 V. This common-mode biasing can be achieved using the on-chip differential amplifier, further reducing the external signal conditioning requirements. The AD7760 is available in an exposed paddle, 64-lead TQFP and is specified over the industrial temperature range from −40°C to +85°C. APPLICATIONS Data acquisition systems Vibration analysis Instrumentation

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD7792/AD7793 are low power, low noise, complete analog front ends for high precision measurement applications. The AD7792/AD7793 contain a low noise 16-/24-bit Σ-Δ ADC with three differential analog inputs. The on-chip, low noise instrumentation amplifier means that signals of small amplitude can be interfaced directly to the ADC. With a gain setting of 64, the rms noise is 40 nV when the update rate equals 4.17 Hz.The devices contain a precision low noise, low drift internal band gap reference and can accept an external differential reference. Other on-chip features include programmable excitation current sources, burnout currents, and a bias voltage generator. The bias voltage generator sets the common-mode voltage of a channel to AVDD/2The devices can be operated with either the internal clock or an external clock. The output data rate from the parts is software-programmable and can be varied from 4.17 Hz to 470 Hz.The parts operate with a power supply from 2.7 V to 5.25 V. They consume a current of 400 μA typical and are housed in a 16-lead TSSOP package.Applications Thermocouple measurements RTD measurements Thermistor measurements Gas analysis Industrial process control Instrumentation Portable instrumentation Blood analysis Smart transmitters Liquid/gas chromatography 6-digit DVM
