The LT4363 surge stopper protects loads from high voltage transients. It regulates the output during an overvoltage event, such as load dump in vehicles, by controlling the gate of an external N-channel MOSFET. The output is limited to a safe value allowing the loads to continue functioning. The LT4363 also monitors the voltage drop between the SNS and OUT pins to protect against overcurrent faults. An internal amplifier limits the voltage across the current sense resistor to 50mV. In either fault condition, a timer is started inversely proportional to MOSFET stress. Before the timer expires, the FLT pin pulls low to warn of an impending power down. If the condition persists, the MOSFET is turned off. The LT4363-1 remains off until reset whereas the LT4363-2 restarts after a cool down period.Two precision comparators can monitor the input supply for overvoltage (OV) and undervoltage (UV) conditions. When the potential is below the UV threshold, the external MOSFET is kept off. If the input supply voltage is above the OV threshold, the MOSFET is not allowed to turn back on. Back-to-back MOSFETs can be used in lieu of a Schottky diode for reverse input protection, reducing voltage drop and power loss. The LTC3331 integrates a high voltage energy harvesting power supply plus a buck-boost DC/DC powered from a rechargeable battery to create a single output supply for alternative energy applications. A 10mA shunt allows simple charging of the battery with harvested energy while a low battery disconnect function protects the battery from deep discharge. The energy harvesting power supply, consisting of an integrated full-wave bridge rectifier and a high voltage buck DC/DC, harvests energy from piezoelectric, solar, or magnetic sources. Either DC/DC converter can deliver energy to a single output. The buck operates when harvested energy is available, reducing the quiescent current draw on the battery to the 200nA required by the shunt charger, thereby extending the life of the battery. The buck-boost powers VOUT only when harvested energy is unavailable.A supercapacitor balancer is also integrated, allowing for increased output storage. Voltage and current settings for both inputs and outputs are programmable via pin-strapped logic inputs. The LT5579 mixer is a high performance upconverting mixer optimized for frequencies in the 1.5GHz to 3.8GHz range. The single-ended LO input and RF output ports simplify board layout and reduce system cost. The mixer needs only ?1dBm of LO power and the balanced design results in low LO signal leakage to the RF output. At 2.6GHz operation, the LT5579 provides high conversion gain of 1.3dB, high OIP3 of +26dBm and a low noise floor of ?157.5dBm/Hz at a ?5dBm RF output signal level. The LT5579 offers a high performance alternative to passive mixers. Unlike passive mixers, which have conversion loss and require high LO drive levels, the LT5579 delivers conversion gain at significantly lower LO input levels and is less sensitive to LO power level variations. Demonstration circuit DC1259A is a single-battery battery- backup controller featuring the LTC4110. The LTC4110 controller provides all the features and functions to offer a complete standalone battery-backup system. The LTC4110 is a multi-chemistry flyback battery charger and discharger that is scalable with other LTC4110s to allow a larger battery array for increased capacity and/or redundancy.
The demo board requires a 12V input voltage and is initially configured to charge a 3 Li-Ion Smart Battery at 1A; the charge voltage is 12.6V. However, the Demo board can be easily configured for a standard battery as well. A SMBus interface is offered to allow host communications in control and status and/or support Smart Batteries. However, no host is required to use the LTC4110.

Demonstration circuit 1261A features the LTM8022 step-down μModule® regulator delivering a 3.3V/1A output from a 4.5V to 36V input supply. As a step-down converter, the LTM8022 requires a minimum amount of headroom to keep the output in regulation. Current sharing with another LTM8022 is enabled by tying the VIN, VOUT and SHARE pins together to support higher output loads.

The demonstration circuit is designed to drive a single LED or string of LEDs at up to 1A from a wide input voltage range of 4V to 36V.
