Demonstration circuit DC2902A is a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) regulator featuring the LTM4663 μModule regulator. The demo board has a 2.7V to 5.5V input voltage range and can deliver up to 1.5A of sinking or sourcing current. Inside the LTM4663, a linear power stage works together with a PWM power stage to form an H-bridge configuration. The direction of the current fed through the TEC can be either positive (for cooling mode), or negative (for heating mode). The LTM4663 has two built-in zero drift, rail-to-rail chopper amplifiers which can serve as a thermistor input amplifier and form an analog temperature control loop. The LTM4663 provides a 1% accuracy 2.5V internal reference voltage to bias the thermistor temperature sensing circuit and to program the maximum TEC current and voltage limits for both the cooling and heating modes. The demo board has a default 2MHz switching frequency and can be synchronized to an external clock from 1.85MHz to 3.25MHz applied to the EN/SY input pin (JP1: EN/SY). The clock high level must be above 2.1V and the clock low level must be below 0.8V. Maximum TEC current limit can be programmed with a resistor, R7 (default: 1.5A for cooling mode; –1.5A for heating mode). Maximum TEC voltage limit can be programmed with a resistor, R10 (default: 5V for cooling mode; –4.8V for heating mode). Other features include VTEC output for TEC voltage monitor and ITEC output for TEC current monitor The LTM4663 datasheet gives a complete description of the operation and application information. The datasheet must be read in conjunction with the demo manual.

Demonstration circuit 3145A demonstrates a high efficiency thermoelectric cooler driver and features the LT8722 monolithic driver. The input voltage range of the DC3145A is from 3.1V to 15V and the output is a SPI programmable differential voltage output. The maximum output current is 4A. The switching frequency SPI programmable from 500kHz to 3MHz. The LT8722 is controlled through an SPI interface and therefore the demonstration circuit is also setup to interface through SPI. For demonstration purposes the manual provides instruction on how to connect the DC2026C Linduino board to monitor and control the DC3145A with a PC using a command line Arduino IDE interface.

Demonstration circuit 545 features the LT3460, step-up DC/DC converter with 1.3MHz constant frequency in a SC70 package. There are two switching regulator circuits in DC545. The 12V output boost converter (upper circuit) is designed to convert 5V input to 12V output at 70mA of load current and the SEPIC converter (lower circuit) is designed to convert 10V ~ 16V input to 12V at 50mA.

The EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX evaluation kit provides users with a simple means of connecting with the ADPD1080 hardware, collecting data from the ADPD1080, and evaluating long range proximity capabilities. The ADPD1080 hardware is configured with a large area, p-type, intrinsic, n-type (PIN) semiconductor photodiode as a proximity sensor. In this configuration, motion and proximity in front of the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX are measured by detecting the amount of infrared (IR) light reflected off of objects and the change in IR light as objects move relative to the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX. The evaluation kit requires the EVAL-ADPDM3Z and the Applications Wavetool, which can be downloaded from the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX product page. The Applications Wavetool is a graphical user interface (GUI) that provides users with low level and high level configurability, real-time data analysis, and user datagram protocol (UDP) transfer capabilities so that the evaluation board can easily connect to a PC. The USB port of the PC powers the EVAL-ADPDM3Z and the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX. On-board voltage regulators provide voltage supplies for the ADPD1080. The evaluation board schematic indicates signal names for easy identification. Full specifications for the ADPD1080 are available in the ADPD1080 data sheet. Refer to both this data sheet and the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX user guide when working with the evaluation board.

Demonstration circuit SCP-LT3470A-BEVALZ is a 40V micropower DFN buck regulator featuring the LT3470A. The board is optimized for 3.3V output at up to 250mA load current for a steady state input voltage range of 4V to 36V. Like all boards in the Signal Chain Power series, this board is designed to be easily plugged into other SCP boards to form a complete signal chain power system, enabling fast evaluation of low power signal chains.
