LT8365 Demo Board | Low IQ Boost/SEPIC/Inverting Regulator with 150V, 1.5A Switch
Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 2838A features the LT8365 in a boost configuration. It operates with a switching frequency of 400kHz and is designed to convert a 9V to 30V source to 250V, with 10mA output current.
The demo board contains an optional third charge pump stage for applications requiring higher output voltages. If needed, remove R14 and install optional components. Output voltage sensing connections remain the same.
The LT8365 can be used for different topologies with input voltages up to 60V. However, component selection in this demo circuit restricts the input voltage to 30V.
The demo board contains a selectable jumper, JP1, to aid in the selection of the desired sync pin mode of operation. The default setting is Burst Mode® operation.
This layout is optimized for good EMI performance and small solution size. Input and output filters are necessary for CISPR 25 Class 5 emissions. Radiated emissions plots are included in this manual.
The data sheet gives a complete description of the device, operation and application information. The data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual.

Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit DC2902A is a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) regulator featuring the LTM4663 μModule regulator. The demo board has a 2.7V to 5.5V input voltage
range and can deliver up to 1.5A of sinking or sourcing current. Inside the LTM4663, a linear power stage works together with a PWM power stage to form an H-bridge
configuration. The direction of the current fed through the TEC can be either positive (for cooling mode), or negative (for heating mode). The LTM4663 has two built-in zero
drift, rail-to-rail chopper amplifiers which can serve as a thermistor input amplifier and form an analog temperature control loop. The LTM4663 provides a 1% accuracy
2.5V internal reference voltage to bias the thermistor temperature sensing circuit and to program the maximum TEC current and voltage limits for both the cooling and
heating modes.
The demo board has a default 2MHz switching frequency and can be synchronized to an external clock from 1.85MHz to 3.25MHz applied to the EN/SY input pin
(JP1: EN/SY). The clock high level must be above 2.1V and the clock low level must be below 0.8V. Maximum TEC current limit can be programmed with a resistor, R7
(default: 1.5A for cooling mode; –1.5A for heating mode). Maximum TEC voltage limit can be programmed with a resistor, R10 (default: 5V for cooling mode; –4.8V for heating
mode). Other features include VTEC output for TEC voltage monitor and ITEC output for TEC current monitor
The LTM4663 datasheet gives a complete description of the operation and application information. The datasheet must be read in conjunction with the demo manual.

ADPD1080 Evaluation Board, optimized for motion detection and long range proximity/presence detection applications
Analog Devices Inc.
The EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX evaluation kit provides users with a simple means of connecting with the ADPD1080 hardware, collecting data from the ADPD1080, and evaluating long range proximity capabilities. The ADPD1080 hardware is configured with a large area, p-type, intrinsic, n-type (PIN) semiconductor photodiode as a proximity sensor. In this configuration, motion and proximity in front of the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX are measured by detecting the amount of infrared (IR) light reflected off of objects and the change in IR light as objects move relative to the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX.
The evaluation kit requires the EVAL-ADPDM3Z and the Applications Wavetool, which can be downloaded from the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX product page. The Applications Wavetool is a graphical user interface (GUI) that provides users with low level and high level configurability, real-time data analysis, and user datagram protocol (UDP) transfer capabilities so that the evaluation board can easily connect to a PC.
The USB port of the PC powers the EVAL-ADPDM3Z and the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX. On-board voltage regulators provide voltage supplies for the ADPD1080.
The evaluation board schematic indicates signal names for easy identification.
Full specifications for the ADPD1080 are available in the ADPD1080 data sheet. Refer to both this data sheet and the EVAL-ADPD1080Z-PRX user guide when working with the evaluation board.

LTM4636 High Efficiency, PolyPhase 120A Step-Down Power µModule Regulator
Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit DC2448A-B features a PolyPhase® design using the LTM4636EY, a 40A high efficiency, switch mode step-down power µModule® regulator. The input voltage range is from 4.7V to 15V. When VIN < 5.5V, short PVCC to VIN with R1 = 0Ω, and set R3 = 0Ω and remove R2. The output voltage range is 0.6V to 3.3V. The DC2448A-B can deliver a nominal 120A output current. As explained in the data sheet, output current derating is necessary for certain VIN, VOUT, and thermal conditions. The board operates in continuous conduction mode in heavy load conditions. For high efficiency at low load currents, the MODE_PLLIN jumper selects pulse-skipping mode for noise sensitive applications or Burst Mode® operation in less noise sensitive applications. The MODE_PLLIN pin also allows the LTM4636 to synchronize to an external clock signal. The phases of the three LTM4636s are 0 degrees, 120 degrees and 240 degrees. DC2448A-B has the option of choosing both internal and external compensation circuit for LTM4636. The LTM4636 data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual prior to working on or modifying demo circuit DC2448A-B.
