Demonstration circuit 2721A-B features the LTM4625EY μModule® regulator, a tiny high performance high efficiency step-down regulator configured as an inverting buck-boost regulator. DC2721A-B has an operating input voltage range of 4V to 15V and is able to provide an output current of up to 3A. The output voltage can be programmed from –0.6V and –5.5V. The LTM4625EY is a complete DC/DC point of load regulator in a thermally enhanced 6.25mm × 6.25mm × 5.01mm BGA package requiring only a few input and output capacitors. The LTM4625 data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual for working on or modifying demo circuit 2721A-B.

 LTC3309A | 5V, 6A Synchronous Step-Down Silent Switcher in 2mm × 2mm LQFN

Demonstration Circuit 2745A features the LTC3309A 5V, 6A synchronous step-down silent switcher operating as a 2MHz 3.3V to 1.2V 6A buck regulator. The LTC3309A supports adjustable output voltages from 0.5V to VIN, operating frequencies from 1MHz up to 3MHz. The LTC3309A is a compact, ultralow emission, high efficiency, and high speed synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator. Fast minimum on-time of 22ns enables high VIN to low VOUT conversion at high frequency. DC2745A operating mode may be selected as Burst Mode® operation, skip or forced continuous (FC) mode. Setting JP1 to the FC/SYNC position will allow the LTC3309A to sync to a clock frequency from 1MHz to 3MHz. The LTC3309A operates in forced continuous mode when syncing to an external clock. RT is connected to VIN through a 0Ω resistor, R9, which sets the operating frequency to 2MHz. The frequency can be easily changed by removing R9 and setting an appropriate resistor in the R4 location to obtain the desired frequency. Refer to the LTC3309A data sheet for the proper RT value. The DC2745A also has an EMI filter to reduce conducted EMI. This EMI filter can be included by applying the input voltage at the VIN EMI terminal. The EMI performance of the board is shown in the EMI Test Results section. The red lines in the EMI performance graphs illustrate the CISPR25 Class 5 peak limits for the conducted and radiated emission tests. The LTC3309A data sheet gives a complete description of the part, operation and application information. The data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo. The LTC3309A is assembled in a 3mm × 3mm LQFN package with exposed pads for low thermal  resistance. The layout recommendations for low EMI operation and maximum thermal performance are available in the data sheet section Low EMI PCB Layout. The Efficiency vs Load graph shows the efficiency and the power loss of the circuit with a 3.3V input in Burst Mode operation. The LTC3309A is available in a 12-lead 2mm × 2mm LGA package.

The RMS output is a temperature compensated, monotonic, linear-in-dB representation of real RF signal power, measured over an input sensing range of 70 dB.The envelope detector provides an accurate voltage output which is linearly proportional to the envelope amplitude of the RF input signal for modulation bandwidths up to 150 MHz. The HMC948LP3E employs successive compression topology which delivers high dynamic range over a wide input frequency range. The AD8013 is a low power, single supply, triple video amplifier. Each of the three amplifiers has 30 mA of output current, and is optimized for driving one back terminated video load (150 ?) each. Each amplifier is a current feedback amp-lifier and features gain flatness of 0.1 dB to 60 MHz while offering differential gain and phase error of 0.02% and 0.06? This makes the AD8013 ideal for broadcast and professional video electronics.The AD8013 offers low power of 4 mA per amplifier max and runs on a single +5 V to +13 V power supply. The outputs of each amplifier swing to within one volt of either supply rail to easily accommodate video signals. The AD8013 is unique among current feedback op amps by virtue of its large capacitive load drive. Each op amp is capable of driving large capacitive loads while still achieving rapid settling time. For instance it can settle in 18 ns driving a resistive load, and achieves 40 ns (0.1%) settling while driving 200 pF.The outstanding bandwidth of 150 MHz along with 1000 V/?s of slew rate make the AD8013 useful in many general purpose high speed applications where a single +5 V or dual power supplies up to ?6.5 V are required. Furthermore the AD8013's high speed disable function can be used to power down the amplifier or to put the output in a high impedance state. This can then be used in video multiplexing applications. The AD8013 is available in the industrial temperature range of -40?C to +85?C.
