The MAX1488E quad, low-power line driver is designed for EIA/TIA-232, EIA/TIA-562, and CCITT V.28 communications in harsh environments. Each transmitter output is protected against ±15kV electrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks. The inputs are TTL and CMOS compatible with minimal loading. The outputs feature internally controlled slew-rate limiting and current limiting. This device has a guaranteed 120kbps data rate. Power-supply current is less than 180µA over a ±4.5V to ±13.2V supply voltage range.The MAX1488E is pin compatible with the MC1488, MC14C88, SN75188, SN75C188, DS1488, and DS14C88. The ADuM520x are dual channel digital isolators with isoPower, an integrated, isolated dc-to-dc converter. Based onthe Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, the dc-to-dcconverter provides up to 500 mW of regulated, isolated powerwith 5.0 V input and 5.0 V output voltage, or 200 mW of power with 3.3 V input and 3.3 V output voltage. This eliminates the need for a separate isolated dc-to-dc converter in low power isolated designs. The Analog Devices chip scale transformer iCoupler technology is used for the isolation of the logic signals as well as for the dc-to-dc converter. The result is a small form factor, total isolation solution.ADuM520x units may be used in combination with ADuM5401, ADuM5402, ADuM5403, ADuM5404 and ADuM5000 with isoPower® to achieve higher output power levels and greater channel counts (see the Increasing Available Power section).The ADuM520x isolators provide two independent isolationchannels in a variety of channel configurations and data rates(see the Ordering Guide for options).isoPower uses high frequency switching elements to transfer power through its transformer. Special care must be taken during printed circuit board (PCB) layout to meet emissionsstandards. The Maxim ICL7137 is a monolithic analog to digital converter with all the necessary active devices to directly interface with a light emitting diode (LED) display. Excluding the LED display current, the ICL7137 supply current is under 200μA, making it suitable for battery operation.Versatility and accuracy are inherent features of this converter. The dual-slope conversion technique automatically rejects interference signals common in industrial environments. The true differential input and reference are particularly useful when making ratiometric measurements (ohms or bridge transducers), and the zero integrator phase in Maxim's ICL7137 eliminates overrange hangover and hysteresis effects.
