This circuit allows detection of IGBT device failures that exhibit gate shorts or other causes of weak drive.The secondary falling UVLO is set to 11.24 V (typical) for common IGBT two-level plateau voltage levels.The ADuM4137 provides for in field programming of temperature. Two temperature sensor pins allow isolated monitoring of system temperatures at the IGBTs, sensing diode gains and offsets by means of a serial port interface (SPI) bus on the primary side of the device. Values are stored on an EEPROM located on the secondary side. LT8333 | Low IQ Boost/SEPIC Inverting Converter with 3A, 40V Switch

Evaluation circuit EVAL-LT8333-BZ features the LT8333 in a Boost configuration. It operates with a switching frequency of 2MHz and is designed to convert a 4.5V to 20V source to 24V output. The converter can output up to 2A depending on the input voltage (see Figure 3 in the demo manual, Maximum Output Current vs VIN curve). This evaluation circuit features Spread-Spectrum Frequency Modulation (SSFM) and EMI filters to provide optimum EMI performance. This PCB layout is optimized for good EMI performance and small solution size. The evaluation board contains a selectable jumper, JP1, to aid in the selection of the desired SYNC pin mode of operation. At light load, either pulse-skipping (PULSE SKIP) or low-ripple Burst Mode® operation (BURST) can be selected to improve the efficiency. The LT8333 boost/SEPIC/inverting converter IC operates over an input range of 2.8V to 40V, suitable for automotive, telecom, and industrial applications. The converter provides adjustable and synchronizable operation from 300kHz to 2MHz with SSFM option. The LT8333 packs other popular features such as soft-start, bias pin, input undervoltage lockout. The IC can exhibit a low quiescent current down to 9μA in BURST mode and 1μA in shutdown, which makes it ideal for battery-operated systems. The LT8333 is assembled in a thermally enhanced 10-lead 3mm × 3mm DFN package. The data sheet gives a complete description of the device, operation, and application information. LT8376 | 60V, 2A Silent Switcher Synchronous Step-Down LED Driver

Evaluation board EVAL-LT8376-AZ is a 60V, 2A synchronous Buck LED driver featuring the LT8376. EVAL-LT8376-AZ drives a single string of LEDs up to 36V at 1.5A when VIN is between 43V and 57V. EVAL-LT8376-AZ has an undervoltage lockout (UVLO) set at 40V with 2V hysteresis for turn-on. EVAL-LT8376-AZ runs at 350kHz switching frequency and features optional spread spectrum modulation (SSFM). With SSFM enabled, LT8376 modulates its switching frequency from fSW to fSW + 25% to reduce EMI emissions. The LT8376 has an input voltage range of 3.6V to 60V. LT8376 has internal, synchronous 60V switches for high efficiency and small size. LT8376 has an adjustable switching frequency between 200kHz and 2MHz. The LT8376 can be synchronized with an external clock source or configured with SSFM enabled for low EMI. EVAL-LT8376-AZ includes a SYNC/SSFM jumper to configure the LT8376 for either external frequency synchronization, SSFM enabled for low EMI, or set to normal operation with SSFM disabled. The LT8376’s integrated PWMTG high-side PMOS driver assists with PWM dimming of the connected LEDs. The LED string can be PWM dimmed for accurate brightness control with an externally generated PWM signal or an internally-generated PWM signal. EVAL-LT8376-AZ has jumpers that can be set to switch between internally-generated PWM signal, externally generated PWM signal, and 100% on with no PWM signal. The LT8376 can also be analog dimmed by placing a controllable DC voltage on the CTRL pin. When running PWM dimming with SSFM enabled, the SSFM aligns itself with the PWM signal for flicker-free operation of the LED string. This applies to both internal and external PWM dimming. Small ceramic input and output capacitors are used to save space and cost. The input and output filters on EVAL-LT8376-AZ reduce its EMI. The filters consist of a small ferrite bead or inductor and high frequency ceramic capacitors. These filters, combined with proper board layout and SSFM, are very effective in reducing EMI to comply with CISPR25 class 5 limits. Please follow the recommended layout and the four-layer PCB thickness of EVAL-LT8376-AZ. For best efficiency and PWM dimming performance, the EMI filters at the input and output can be removed. The open LED overvoltage protection (OVP) uses the IC’s constant voltage regulation loop to regulate the output to approximately 41V if the LED string is opened. The output current can be monitored through the ISMON pin. Also, the FAULT pin can be used for open and short detection. The input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), LED current, output overvoltage protection (OVP), and switching frequency, can all be easy adjusted with simple modifications to EVAL-LT8376-AZ. The LT8376 data sheet gives a complete description of the device, operation, and applications information. The data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual for evaluation board EVAL-LT8376-AZ. The LT8376RV is assembled in a 28-lead plastic LQFN package with a thermally enhanced exposed ground pad. Proper board layout is essential for maximum performance. The ADM1073 is a full-feature, negative voltage, hot swap controller that allows boards to be safely inserted and removed from a live ?48 V backplane. The part provides precise and robust current limiting, and protection against both transient and nontransient short circuits in overvoltage and undervoltage conditions. The ADM1073 can operate from a negative voltage of ?18 V to ?80 V and can tolerate transient voltages of up to ?200 V.Inrush current is limited to a programmable value by control-ling the gate drive of an external N-channel FET. The maximum current limit is set by the choice of the sense resistor, RSENSE.A built-in soft start function allows control of the inrush current profile by an external capacitor on the soft start (SS) pin.An external capacitor on the TIMER pin determines the time for which the FET gate is controlled to be high when maximum inrush current flows. The ADM1260 Super Sequencer? is a configurable supervisory/sequencing device that offers a single-chip solution for supply monitoring and sequencing in multiple supply systems.A high speed interchip bus (ICB) allows multiple devices to be easily linked together. It is possible to create a system capable of sequencing up to 40 supplies and monitoring up to 37 supplies. Using the ADI Power Studio? software, the operation of the ICB is transparent to the user, making multiple devices appear to operate as a single virtual sequencer.In addition to these functions, the ADM1260 integrates a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and six 8-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converters (DACs). Use the ADC and the DACs to implement a closed-loop margining system that enables supply adjustment by altering either the feedback node or the reference of a dc-to-dc converter using the DAC outputs.Supply margining can be performed with a minimum of external components. The margining loop can be used for in-circuit testing of a board during production (for example, to verify board functionality at ?5% of nominal supplies), or it can be used dynamically to accurately control the output voltage of a dc-to-dc converter.The device also provides up to 10 programmable inputs for monitoring undervoltage faults, overvoltage faults, or out of window faults on up to 10 supplies. In addition, 10 programmable outputs can be used as logic enables. Six of these programmable outputs can also provide an output of up to 12 V for driving the gate of an N-FET that can be placed in the path of a supply.The logical core of the device is a sequencing engine (SE). This state machine-based construction provides up to 61 different states. This design enables very flexible sequencing of the outputs, based on the condition of the inputs.A block of nonvolatile EEPROM is available that can be used to store user defined information and can also be used to hold a number of fault records that are written by the sequencing engine, as defined by the user when a particular fault or sequence occurs.The device is controlled via configuration data that can be programmed into an EEPROM.
