The LTC2950 is a micropower, wide input voltage range, pushbutton ON/OFF controller. The part contains a pushbutton input with independently programmable ON and OFF debounce times that control the toggling of an open drain enable output. The part also contains a simple microprocessor interface to allow for proper system housekeeping prior to power down. Under system fault conditions, an internal KILL timer ensures proper power down.The LTC2950 operates over a wide 2.7V to 26.4V input voltage range to accommodate a wide variety of input power supplies. Very low quiescent current (6?A typical) makes the LTC2950 ideally suited for battery powered applications. Two versions of the part are available to accommodate either positive or negative enable polarities. The device supplies 1A of output current with 145mV typical dropout voltage. The LT3022 is ideal for low input voltage to low output voltage applications, providing comparable electrical efficiency to a switching regulator. The demo board has an input voltage range from 1V to 10V and provides a jumper-selectable output voltage of 0.9V, 1V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V or a user-defined value down to 200mV. The regulator optimizes stability and transient response with low ESR ceramic output capacitors as small as 10µF. Other LT3022 features include 0.05% typical line regulation and 0.05% typical load regulation. In shutdown, the quiescent current typically drops to 7.5µA. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse-battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting with hysteresis and reverse-current protection.

Demonstration circuit DC937A is a complete power controller for a USB powered device. It is based on the LTC4085 and provides a constant-current, constant-voltage linear battery charger, a USB power manager with PowerPath management for the battery. The 700mA CC/CV timer terminated, temperature qualified, linear charger targets Li-Ion batteries, and the USB power manager insures compliance with the USB power specification and PowerPath management for the battery. The demo board's input voltage range is 4.5V to 5.5V.

Demonstration circuit 2234A is a synchronous sepic converter featuring the LT8711 multitopology switching controller. The LT8711 is a current mode PWM DC/DC controller with a dual input LDO to optimize gate driver efficiency. Ultralow 15μA quiescent current in low noise Burst Mode® operation achieves high efficiency at very light loads and helps extend the run-time in battery powered applications when in standby mode. The LT8711 switching frequency can be programmed either via oscillator resistor or external clock over a 100kHz to 750kHz range.

The LT3574 is a monolithic switching regulator specifically designed for the isolated flyback topology. No third winding or opto-isolator is required for regulation. The part senses the isolated output voltage directly from the primary side flyback waveform. A 0.65A, 60V NPN power switch is integrated along with all control logic into a 16?lead MSOP package. The LT3574 operates with input supply voltages from 3V to 40V, and can deliver output power up to 3W with no external power switch. The LT3574 utilizes boundary mode operation to provide a small magnetic solution with improved load regulation. The output voltage is easily set with two external resistors and the transformer turns ratio. Demonstration circuit 2910A is low VIN, high efficiency, and dual 2A output µModule DC/DC converter. The board operates by default at a fixed 2MHz and can be synchronized from 1MHz to 3MHz via the MODE/SYNC pin. With its high switching frequency and current mode architecture, a fast transient response to line and load changes is possible without sacrificing stability. The DC2910A can be used in forced continuous mode or pulse skip mode for low noise, or in burst mode operation for high efficiency at light loads.
