The LTC1628/LTC1628-PG are high performance dual step-down switching regulator controllers that drive all N-channel synchronous power MOSFET stages. A constant frequency current mode architecture allows adjustment of the frequency up to 300kHz. Power loss and noise due to the ESR of the input capacitors are minimized by operating the two controller output stages out of phase.OPTI-LOOP compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of output capacitance and ESR values. The precision 0.8V reference and power good output indicator are compatible with future microprocessor generations, and a wide 3.5V to 30V (36V maximum) input supply range encompasses all battery chemistries.A RUN/SS pin for each controller provides both soft-start and optional timed, short-circuit shutdown. Current foldback limits MOSFET dissipation during short-circuit conditions when overcurrent latchoff is disabled. Output overvoltage protection circuitry latches on the bottom MOSFET until VOUT returns to normal. The FCB mode pin can select among Burst Mode, constant frequency mode and continuous inductor current mode or regulate a secondary winding. The LTC2952 is a power management device that features three main functions: pushbutton on/off control of system power, ideal diode PowerPath? controllers and system monitoring. The LTC2952?s pushbutton input, which provides on/off control of system power, has independently adjustable ON and OFF debounce times. A simple microprocessor interface involving an interrupt signal allows for proper system housekeeping prior to power-down. The ideal diode PowerPath controllers provide automatic low loss switchover between two DC sources by regulating two external P-channel MOSFETs to have a small 20mV forward drop. High reliability systems may utilize the LTC2952?s monitoring features to ensure system integrity. These features include: power-fail, voltage monitoring and ?P watchdog. The LTC2952 operates over a wide operating voltage range to accommodate a large variety of input power supplies. Demonstration circuit 1038A-A is a 33W isolated flyback converter with synchronous rectification and primary-side regulation featuring the LT3837. This circuit was designed to demonstrate the high levels of performance, efficiency, and small solution size attainable using the part in a flyback power supply. It operates at 200kHz and produces a regulated 3.3V, 10A output from an input voltage range of 9V to 36V. Isolation voltage is 1500VDC.

Demonstration circuits 1053A-E through 1053A-H exercise the LTC3526L family of high efficiency synchronous boost converters, and are capable of operating with an input voltage range from 0.8V to 5.5V. The 2 × 2 mm DFN thermally enhanced package, high switching frequency (1MHz or 2MHz) and 550mA internal power switches provide a very tiny solution. The LTC3526L family also features output disconnect, and the input voltage can be greater or less than the output voltage. DC1053A-E features the LTC3526L (Burst mode operation) and the DC1053A-F features the LTC3526LB (Burst mode defeated). Both have a 1MHz switching frequency and use a 4.7µH inductor.

Demonstration circuit 1060 features two LT3508 step-down DC/DC switching converters. One circuit uses the LT3508EFE and the other circuit has the LT3508EUF. The LT3508 dual output step-down switching regulator has two internal power switches, a wide input voltage range, adjustable switching frequency synchronizable over the frequency range, programmable soft-start, tracking, power-good, and channel sequencing. The anti-phase switching reduces the input capacitor. The wide VIN range of the LT3508 allows step-down configurations with up to 36V input. The high power internal switches have current limit that allows for up to 1.4A output on each output. The demonstration circuit has two circuits. The top is optimized for high efficiency, wide input range and maximum output current; the bottom is optimized for the size. The top circuit is rated for 3.3V at 1.4A and 5V at 1.4A output from a 6V–36V input using the FE package. The frequency is set to 700kHz to allow for the high VIN to VOUT ratio and provides high efficiency throughout the range. The bottom circuit generates 1.8V at 1A and 3.3V at 1A from a 5V to 16V DC input using the QFN package and shows off the compact size with 1.6MHz switching frequency.

Demonstration circuit 1072B is a step-down converter using the LTC3561A monolithic synchronous buck regulator. The DC1072B has an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, and is capable of delivering up to 1A of output current at a jumper-selectable output voltage of 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V or user-defined.

Demonstration circuit 1092 is a monolithic step-down DC/DC switching converter featuring the LT1933H in the 2×3 DFN-6 package and operating over the H-grade temperature range. The board is optimized for 3.3V output at up to 500mA load current and requires an input voltage ranging from 4.5V to 36V.
