The ADXRS453 is an angular rate sensor (gyroscope) intended for industrial, instrumentation, and stabilization applications in high vibration environments. An advanced, differential, quad sensor design rejects the influence of linear acceleration, enabling the ADXRS453 to offer high accuracy rate sensing in harsh envi-ronments where shock and vibration are present. The ADXRS453 uses an internal, continuous self-test architec-ture. The integrity of the electromechanical system is checked by applying a high frequency electrostatic force to the sense structure to generate a rate signal that can be differentiated from the base-band rate data and internally analyzed. The ADXRS453 is capable of sensing an angular rate of up to ?300?/sec. Angular rate data is presented as a 16-bit word that is part of a 32-bit SPI message. The ADXRS453 is available in a 16-lead plastic cavity SOIC (SOIC_CAV) and an SMT-compatible vertical mount package (LCC_V), and is capable of operating across a wide voltage range (3.3 V to 5 V). ApplicationsRotation sensing in high vibration environments Rotation sensing for industrial and instrumentation applicationsHigh performance platform stabilization

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADXRS623 is a complete angular rate sensor (gyroscope)that uses the Analog Devices, Inc. surface-micromachiningprocess to create a functionally complete and low cost angularrate sensor integrated with all required electronics on one chip. The manufacturing technique for this device is the same highvolume BiMOS process used for high reliability automotiveairbag accelerometers. The ADXRS623 is an automotive grade gyroscope. Automotive grade gyroscopes have more extensive guaranteed min/max specifications due to automotive testing. The output signal, RATEOUT (1B, 2A), is a voltageproportional to the angular rate about the axis that is normal tothe top surface of the package. The output is ratiometric withrespect to a provided reference supply. A single externalresistor between SUMJ and RATEOUT can be used to lowerthe scale factor. An external capacitor sets the bandwidth. Otherexternal capacitors are required for operation.A temperature output is provided for compensation techniques. Two digital self-test inputs electromechanically excite thesensor to test proper operation of both the sensor and the signalconditioning circuits. The ADXRS623 is available in a 7 mm ?7 mm ? 3 mm BGA chip scale package.APPLICATIONS Inertial measurement units Platform stabilization Robotics

EVALZ-ADPD2211
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADPD2211 is an optical sensor optimized for biomedical applications. Very low power consumption and near theoretical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are achieved by packaging an ultralow capacitance deep junction silicon photodiode operated in zero bias photoconductive mode with a low noise current amplifier. The ADPD2211 offers a typical 400 kHz bandwidth performance, which is well suited for use with pulsed excitation. The ADPD2211 uses very little power during operation and incorporates a power-down pin, enabling power cycling to optimize battery life in portable applications. The ADPD2211 provides shot noise limited performance, making it an excellent choice for measuring signals with the highest possible fidelity in low light conditions. This combination of low power, very high SNR, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) immunity enables low power system solutions not possible with traditional photodiode (PD) and transimpedance amplifier (TIA) systems.Applications Heart rate, pulse oximetry monitoring (photoplethysmography) Battery-powered medical sensors Chemical analysis

ADXL213EB
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADXL213 is a low cost, low power, complete dual axis accelerometer with signal conditioned, duty cycle modulated outputs, all on a single monolithic IC. The ADXL213 measures acceleration with a full-scale range of ?1.2 g (typical). The ADXL213 can measure both dynamic acceleration (e.g., vibration) and static acceleration (e.g., gravity). The outputs are digital signals whose duty cycles (ratio of pulse width to period) are proportional to acceleration (30%/g). The duty cycle outputs can be directly measured by a microcontroller without an A/D converter or glue logic.Innovative design techniques are used to ensure high zero g bias stability (typically better than 0.25 mg/?C), as well as tight sensitivity stability (typically better than 50 ppm/?C).The typical noise floor is 160 ?g/?, allowing signals below 1 mg (0.06? of inclination) to be resolved in tilt sensing applications using narrow bandwidths (The user selects the bandwidth of the accelerometer usingcapacitors CX and CYM at the XFILT and YFILT pins. Bandwidths of0.5 Hz to 250 Hz may be selected to suit the application. The ADXL213 is available in a 5mm x 5mm x 2mm, 8-pad hermetic LCC package.ApplicationsAutomotive tilt alarmData projectorsNavigationPlatform stabilization/levelingAlarms and motion detectorsHigh accuracy, 2-axis tilt sensing

ADIS16265BCCZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADIS16260 and ADIS16265 are programmable digital gyroscopes that combine industry-leading MEMS and signal processing technology in a single compact package. They provide accuracy performance that would require full motion calibration with any other MEMS gyroscope in their class. When power is applied, the ADIS16260 and ADIS16265 automatically start up and begin sampling sensor data, without requiring configuration commands from a system processor. An addressable register structure and a common serial peripheral interface (SPI) provide simple access to sensor data and configuration settings. Many digital processor platforms support the SPI with simple firmware-level instructions. The ADIS16260 and ADIS16265 provide several programmable features for in-system optimization. The sensor bandwidth switch (50 Hz and 330 Hz), Bartlett window FIR filter length, and sample rate settings provide users with controls that enable noise vs. bandwidth optimization. The digital input/output lines offer options for a data ready signal that helps the master processor efficiently manage data coherency, an alarm indicator signal for triggering master processor interrupts, and a general-purpose function for setting and monitoring system-level digital controls/ conditions. The ADIS16260 and ADIS16265 are drop-in replacements for the ADIS1625x family and come in LGA packages (11.2 mm × 11.2 mm × 5.5 mm) that meet Pb-free solder reflow profile requirements, per JEDEC J-STD-020. They have an extended operating temperature range of −40°C to +105°C.APPLICATIONS Platform control and stabilization Navigation Medical instrumentation Robotics

Digital output data is formatted as 16-bit twos complement and is accessible through either a serial port interface (SPI) (3- or 4-wire) or I2C digital interface. The ADXL312 is well suited for car alarm or black box applications. It measures the static acceleration of gravity in tilt-sensing applications, as well as dynamic acceleration resulting from motion or shock. Its high resolution (2.9 mg/LSB) enables resolution of inclination changes of as little as 0.25°. A built-in FIFO facilitates using oversampling techniques to improve resolution to as little as 0.05° of inclination.Several special sensing functions are provided. Activity and inactivity sensing detects the presence or absence of motion and whether the acceleration on any axis exceeds a user-set level. These functions can be mapped to interrupt output pins. An integrated 32 level FIFO can be used to store data to minimize host processor intervention.Low power modes enable intelligent motion-based power management with threshold sensing and active acceleration measurement at extremely low power dissipation. The ADXL312 is supplied in a small, thin 5 mm × 5 mm × 1.45 mm, 32-lead, LFCSP package.APPLICATIONS Car alarm Hill start aid (HSA) Electronic parking brake Data recorder (black box)
