ADXL344 Datalogger / Development Board

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADXL344 Development Board is an easy-to-use tool designed to shorten application development time by providing a ready-to-use platform for data collection and firmware development. The board is pre-configured as a datalogger that can be used to gather data for refining algorithms, tuning thresholds, and generally familiarizing oneself with accelerometer data. Powered by two AAA batteries, the board is completely untethered and integrates seamlessly into portable applications. Logged data is stored on a MicroSD memory card, providing essentially unlimited memory capacity and operating system versatility. Data is stored in a text (.txt) file, so no software installation is required to operate the board or read data. A 2GB MicroSD card and a USB MicroSD card reader are provided with the board. Additionally, the board is fully programmable, providing a hardware platform on which firmware can be tested in parallel with development of application hardware. Communications and processing are performed by an ARM7-based ADuC7024 micro-controller, and firmware is written in C. A programming cable is provided with the board, and a development environment and header files are supplied on this page. Finally, the platform can be duplicated in the final application, having already been tested with the application firmware. Schematics and layout can be found under the Supporting Documentation tab and can be used freely in your application. Note that this board is not configured to display real-time data. For real-time evaluation of the ADXL344, please refer to the Inertial Sensor Evaluation Board. For a simple ADXL344 Breakout Board, refer to the EVAL-ADXL344Z.

EVAL-AD5235SDZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD5235 is a dual-channel, nonvolatile memory, digitallycontrolled potentiometer with 1024-step resolution, offeringguaranteed maximum low resistor tolerance error of ?8%.The device performs the same electronic adjustment functionas a mechanical potentiometer with enhanced resolution, solidstate reliability, and superior low temperature coefficient performance. The versatile programming of the AD5235 via anSPI?-compatible serial interface allows 16 modes of operationand adjustment including scratchpad programming, memorystoring and restoring, increment/decrement, ?6 dB/step log taperadjustment, wiper setting readback, and extra EEMEM for user-definedinformation such as memory data for other components,look-up table, or system identification information. In the scratchpad programming mode, a specific setting canbe programmed directly to the RDAC register, which sets theresistance between Terminal W and Terminal A and Terminal Wand Terminal B. This setting can be stored into the EEMEMand is restored automatically to the RDAC register duringsystem power-on.The EEMEM content can be restored dynamically or throughexternal PR strobing, and a WP function protects EEMEMcontents. To simplify the programming, the independent orsimultaneous linear-step increment or decrement commandscan be used to move the RDAC wiper up or down, one step ata time. For logarithmic ?6 dB changes in the wiper setting, theleft or right bit shift command can be used to double or halve theRDAC wiper setting. The AD5235 patterned resistance tolerance is stored in theEEMEM. The actual end-to-end resistance can, therefore, beknown by the host processor in readback mode. The host canexecute the appropriate resistance step through a softwareroutine that simplifies open-loop applications as well asprecision calibration and tolerance matching applications. The AD5235 is available in a thin, 16-lead TSSOP package. The part is guaranteed to operate over the extended industrialtemperature range of ?40?C to +85?C.Applications DWDM laser diode driver, optical supervisory systems Mechanical potentiometer replacement Instrumentation: gain, offset adjustment Programmable voltage-to-current conversion Programmable filters, delays, time constants Programmable power supply Low resolution DAC replacement Sensor calibration

AD9705-DPG2-EBZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD9704/AD9705/AD9706/AD9707 are the fourth-generation family in the TxDAC series of high performance, CMOS digital-to-analog converters (DACs). This pin-compatible, 8-/10-/12-/14-bit resolution family is optimized for low power operation, while maintaining excellent dynamic performance. The AD9704/AD9705/AD9706/AD9707 family is pin-compatible with the AD9748/AD9740/AD9742/AD9744 family of TxDAC converters and is specifically optimized for the transmit signal path of communication systems. All of the devices share the same interface, LFCSP package, and pinout, providing an upward or downward component selection path based on performance, resolution, and cost. The AD9704/AD9705/AD9706/AD9707 offers exceptional ac and dc performance, while supporting update rates up to 175 MSPS.The flexible power supply operating range of 1.7 V to 3.6 V and low power dissipation of the AD9704/AD9705/AD9706/AD9707 parts make them well suited for portable and low power applications.Power dissipation of the AD9704/AD9705/AD9706/AD9707 can be reduced to 15 mW, with a small trade-off in performance, by lowering the full-scale current output. In addition, a power-down mode reduces the standby power dissipation to approximately 2.2 mW.The AD9704/AD9705/AD9706/AD9707 has an optional serial peripheral interface (SPI?) that provides a higher level of programmability to enhance performance of the DAC. An adjustable output, common-mode feature allows for easy interfacing to other components that require common modes from 0 V to 1.2 V.Edge-triggered input latches and a 1.0 V temperature-compensated band gap reference have been integrated to provide a complete, monolithic DAC solution. The digital inputs support 1.8 V and 3.3 V CMOS logic families.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS Pin Compatible. The AD9704/AD9705/AD9706/AD9707 line of TxDAC?converters is pin-compatible with theAD9748/AD9740/AD9742/AD9744 TxDAC line (LFCSP package). Low Power. Complete CMOS DAC operates on a single supply of 3.6 V down to 1.7 V, consuming 50 mW (3.3 V) and 12 mW (1.8 V). The DAC full-scale current can be reduced for lower power operation. Sleep and power-down modes are provided for low power idle periods. Self-Calibration. Self-calibration enables true 14-bit INL and DNL performance in the AD9707. Twos Complement/Binary Data Coding Support. Data input supports twos complement or straight binary data coding. Flexible Clock Input. A selectable high speed, single-ended,and differential CMOS clock input supports 175 MSPS conversion rate. Device Configuration. Device can be configured through pin strapping, and SPI control offers a higher level of programmability. Easy Interfacing to Other Components. Adjustable common-mode output allows for easy interfacing to other signal chain components that accept common-mode levels from 0 V to 1.2 V. On-Chip Voltage Reference. The AD9704/AD9705/AD9706/AD9707 include a 1.0 V temperature-compensated band gap voltage reference. Industry-Standard 32-Lead LFCSP Package.
