AD8130ARMZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8129/AD8130 are designed as receivers for the transmission of high speed signals over twisted-pair cables to work with the AD8131 or AD8132 drivers. Either can be used for analog or digital video signals and for high speed data transmission. The AD8129/AD8130 are differential-to-single-ended amplifiers with extremely high CMRR at high frequency. Therefore, they canalso be effectively used as high speed instrumentation amps or for converting differential signals to single-ended signals. The AD8129 is a low noise, high gain (10 or greater) version intended for applications over very long cables, where signal attenuation is significant. The AD8130 is stable at a gain of 1 and can be used for applications where lower gains are required. Both have user-adjustable gain to help compensate for losses in the transmission line. The gain is set by the ratio of two resistor values. The AD8129/AD8130 have very high input impedance on both inputs, regardless of the gain setting. The AD8129/AD8130 have excellent common-mode rejection (70 dB @ 10 MHz), allowing the use of low cost, unshielded twisted-pair cables without fear of corruption by external noise sources or crosstalk. The AD8129/AD8130 have a wide power supply range from single +5 V to ±12 V, allowing wide common-mode and differential-mode voltage ranges while maintaining signal integrity. The wide common-mode voltage range enables the driver-receiver pair to operate without isolation transformers in many systems where the ground potential difference between drive and receive locations is many volts. The AD8129/AD8130 have considerable cost and performance improvements over op amps and other multiamplifier receiving solutions. Applications High speed differential line receivers Differential-to-single-ended converters High speed instrumentation amps Level shifting

EVAL-ADF7020-1DBZ7
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADF7020-1 is a low power, highly integrated FSK/ GFSK/ ASK/ OOK/ GOOK transceiver designed for operation in thelow UHF and VHF bands. The ADF7020-1 uses an externalVCO inductor that allows users to set the operating frequencyanywhere between 135 MHz and 650 MHz. Using the divide-by-2circuit allows users to operate the device as low as 80 MHz.The typical range of the VCO is about 10% of the operatingfrequency. A complete transceiver can be built using a smallnumber of external discrete components, making the ADF7020-1 very suitable for price-sensitive and area-sensitiveapplications.The transmit section contains a VCO and low noisefractional-N PLL with output resolution of <1 ppm. Thisfrequency agile PLL allows the ADF7020-1 to be used infrequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) systems. The VCOoperates at twice the fundamental frequency to reduce spuriousemissions and frequency pulling problems. The transmitter output power is programmable in 63 steps from−20 dBm to +13 dBm. The transceiver RF frequency, channelspacing, and modulation are programmable using a simple 3-wire interface. The device operates with a power supply range of2.3 V to 3.6 V and can be powered down when not in useA low IF architecture is used in the receiver (200 kHz),minimizing power consumption and the external componentcount and avoiding interference problems at low frequencies. The ADF7020-1 supports a wide variety of programmablefeatures, including Rx linearity, sensitivity, and IF bandwidth, allowing the user to trade off receiver sensitivity and selectivityfor current consumption, depending on the application. Thereceiver also features a patent-pending automatic frequencycontrol (AFC) loop, allowing the PLL to compensate forfrequency error in the incoming signal. An on-chip ADC provides readback of an integrated temperaturesensor, an external analog input, the battery voltage, or theRSSI signal, which provides savings on an ADC in someapplications. The temperature sensor is accurate to ±10°C overthe full operating temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. Thisaccuracy can be improved by doing a 1-point calibration atroom temperature and storing the result in memory.Applications Low cost wireless data transfer Wireless medical applications Remote control/security systems Wireless metering Keyless entry Home automation Process and building control

AD8400ARZ1
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8400 / AD8402 / AD8403 provide a single, dual or quad channel, 256 position digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) device. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. The AD8400 contains a single variable resistor in the compact SO-8 package. The AD8402 contains two independent variable resistors in saving SO-14 surface mount package. The AD8403 contains four independent variable resistors in 24-lead PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages. Each part contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digital code loaded into the controlling serial input register. The resistance between the wiper and either endpoint of the fixed resistor varies linearly with respect to the digital code transferred into the VR latch. Each variable resistor offers a completely programmable value of resistance, between the A terminal and the wiper or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A to B terminal resistance of 1 kOhm, 10 kOhm, 50 kOhm or 100 kOhm has a ±1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance with a nominal temperature coefficient of 500 ppm/°C. A unique switching circuit minimizes the high glitch inherent in traditional switched resistor designs avoiding any make-before-break or break-before-make operation. Each VR has its own VR latch that holds its programmed resistance value. These VR latches are updated from an SPI compatible serial-to-parallel shift register that is loaded from a standard 3-wire serial-input digital interface. Ten data bits make up the data word clocked into the serial input register. The data word is decoded where the first two bits determine the address of the VR latch to be loaded, the last eight bits are data. A serial data output pin at the opposite end of the serial register allows simple daisy-chaining in multiple VR applications without additional external decoding logic.APPLICATIONS Mechanical potentiometer replacement Programmable filters, delays, time constants Volume control, panning Line impedance matching Power supply adjustment
