Analog Devices Inc.
The AD652 Synchronous Voltage-to-Frequency Converter (SVFC) is a powerful building block for precision analog-to-digital conversion, offering typical nonlinearity of 0.002% (0.005% maximum) at a 100 kHz output frequency. The inherent monotonicity of the transfer function and wide range of clock frequencies allows the conversion time and resolution to be optimized for specific applications. The AD652 uses a variation of the popular charge-balancing technique to perform the conversion function. The AD652 uses an external clock to define the full-scale output frequency, rather than relying on the stability of an external capacitor. The result is a more stable, more linear transfer function, with significant application benefits in both single and multichannel systems.Gain drift is minimized using a precision low drift reference and low TC on-chip thin-film scaling resistors. Furthermore, the initial gain error is reduced to less than 0.5% by the use of laser-wafer-trimming.The analog and digital sections of the AD652 have been designed to allow operation from a single-ended power source, simplifying its use with isolated power supplies. The AD652 is available in five performance grades. The 20-pin PLCC packaged JP and KP grades are specified for operation over the 0°C to +70°C commercial temperature range. The 16-pin CERDIP-packaged AQ and BQ grades are specified for operation over the -40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range, and the AD652SQ is available for operation over the full -55°C to +125°C extended temperature range.

The ADL5315 is a wide input current range precision high-side current mirror featuring a stable and user-adjustable input voltage. It is optimized for use with PIN photodiodes, but its flexibility and wide operating range make it suitable for a broad array of additional applications. The part provides a compact solution for the common and often challenging problem of interfacing an optical power monitoring device (such as a log amp) to the cathode-side of a PIN photodiode. The ADL5315 mirrors the current at the cathode at a 1:1 ratio over a six-decade range, producing an output exactly proportional to the reference current monitored. Competing optical current monitors have much higher mirror ratios over narrower dynamic ranges, rendering proportional outputs at very low input currents impossible, while discrete solutions are more tedious to implement and may require significantly more board space.

ADL5391ACPZ-R7
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADL5391 draws on three decades of experience in advanced analog multiplier products. It provides the same general mathematical function that has been field proven to provide an exceptional degree of versatility in function synthesis:VW = α × (VX x VY)/1 V + VZThe most significant advance in the ADL5391 is the use of anew multiplier core architecture, which differs markedly fromthe conventional form that has been in use since 1970. Theconventional structure that employs a current mode, translinearcore is fundamentally asymmetric with respect to the X and Yinputs, leading to relative amplitude and timing misalignmentsthat are problematic at high frequencies. The new multiplier coreeliminates these misalignments by offering symmetric signalpaths for both X and Y inputs. The Z input allows a signal to beadded directly to the output. This can be used to cancel a carrieror to apply a static offset voltage. The fully differential X, Y, and Z input interfaces are operationalover a ±2 V range, and they can be used in single-ended fashion. The user can apply a common mode at these inputs to varyfrom the internally set VPOS/2 down to ground. If these inputsare ac-coupled, their nominal voltage will be VPOS/2. These inputinterfaces each present a differential 500 Ω input impedance up toapproximately 700 MHz, decreasing to 50 Ω at 2 GHz. The gainscaling input, GADJ, can be used for fine adjustment of the gainscaling constant (α) about unity. The differential output can swing ±2 V about the VPOS/2common-mode and can be taken in a single-ended fashion aswell. The output common mode is designed to interface directlyto the inputs of another ADL5391. Light dc loads can be groundreferenced; however, ac-coupling of the outputs is recommendedfor heavy loads. The ENBL pin allows the ADL5391 to be disabled quickly to astandby mode. It operates off supply voltages from 4.5 V to 5.5 Vwhile consuming approximately 130 mA.The ADL5391 is fabricated on Analog Devices, Inc. proprietary, high performance, 65 GHz, SOI complementary, SiGe bipolarIC process. It is available in a 16-lead, RoHS compliant, LFCSPand operates over a −40°C to +85°C temperature range.Evaluation boards are available.Applications Wideband multiplication and summing High frequency analog modulation Adaptive antennas (diversity/phased array) Square-law detectors and true rms detectors Accurate polynomial function synthesis DC capable VGA with very fast control

ADM1087AKSZ-REEL7
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADM1085-ADM1088 are Simple Sequencing™ circuits which provide a time delay between the enabling of voltage regulators at power-up in multiple supply systems. When the output voltage of the first regulator reaches a preset threshold, a time delay is initiated before an enable signal allows subsequent regulators to power-up. Any number of these devices can be cascaded with regulators to allow sequencing of multiple power supplies.Threshold levels can be set with a pair of external resistors in a voltage divider configuration. By choosing appropriate resistor values, the threshold can be adjusted to monitor voltages as low as 0.6V. The ADM1086 and ADM1088 have push-pull output stages, with active-high (ENOUT) and active-low (ENOUT) logic outputs, respectively. Similarly, the ADM1085 has an active-high (ENOUT) logic output and the ADM1087 has an active-low (ENOUT) output. Both the ADM1085 and ADM1087 have open-drain output stages which can be pulled up to voltage levels as high as 22V through an external resistor. This level shifting property of the ADM1085 and ADM1087 ensures compatibility with enable input logic levels of different regulators and converters. All four models have a dedicated enable input pin which allows the output signal to the regulator to be controlled externally. This is an active-high input (ENIN) for the ADM1085 and ADM1086, and an active-low input (ENIN) for the ADM1087 and ADM1088. The Simple Sequencers™ are specified over the extended –40°C to +125°C temperature range, and with low current consumption of 15µA (typ) and 6-lead SC70 packaging, they are suitable for low power portable applications.

ADM232AANZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADM222, ADM232A, ADM242 are a family of high-speedRS-232 line drivers/receivers offering transmission rates up to200 kB/s. Operating from a single 5 V power supply, a highlyefficient on-chip charge pump using small (0.1 µF) externalcapacitors allows RS-232 bipolar levels to be developed. TwoRS-232 drivers and two RS-232 receivers are provided oneach device. The devices are fabricated on BiCMOS, an advanced mixedtechnology process that combines low power CMOS with highspeedbipolar circuitry. This allows for transmission rates up to200 kB/s, yet minimizes the quiescent power supply current tounder 5 mA.The ADM232A is a pin-compatible, high-speed upgrade for theAD232 and for the ADM232L. It is available in 16-lead DIPand in both narrow and wide surface-mount (SOIC) packages. The ADM222 contains an additional shutdown (SHDN) functionthat may be used to disable the device, thereby reducing thesupply current to 0.1 µA. During shutdown, all transmit/receivefunctions are disabled. The ADM222 is available in 18-leadDIP and in a wide surface-mount (SOIC) package. The ADM242 combines both shutdown (SHDN) and enable(EN) functions. The shutdown function reduces the supplycurrent to 0.1 mA. During shutdown, the transmitters are disabledbut the receivers continue to operate normally. Theenable function allows the receiver outputs to be disabledthereby facilitating sharing a common bus. The ADM242 isavailable in 18-lead DIP and in a wide surface-mount (SOIC)package.Applications Computers Peripherals Modems Printers Instruments
