Analog Devices Inc.
The ADM809 supervisory circuit monitors the power supply voltage in microprocessor systems. It provides a reset output during power-up, power-down and brownout conditions. On power-up, an internal timer holds reset asserted for 240ms. This holds the microprocessor in a reset state until conditions have stabilized. The RESET output remains operational with VCC as low as 1V. The ADM809 provides an active-low reset signal RESET, and has a push-pull output stage.Seven reset threshold options are available. The ADM811/ADM812 are reliable voltage monitoring devicessuitable for use in most voltage monitoring applications. TheADM811/ADM812 are designed to monitor six different voltages,each allowing a 5% or 10% degradation of standard PSU voltagesbefore a reset occurs. These voltages have been selected for theeffective monitoring of 2.5 V, 3 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V supply voltagelevels.Included in this circuit is a debounced manual reset input.Reset can be activated using an electrical switch (or an inputfrom another digital device) or by a degradation of the supplyvoltage. The manual reset function is very useful, especially ifthe circuit in which the ADM811/ADM812 are operating entersinto a state that can only be detected by the user. The ADP1715 / ADP1716 are low dropout, CMOS linear regulators that operate from 2.5 V to 5.5 V and provide up to 500 mA of output current. Using an advanced proprietary architecture, they provide high power supply rejection and achieve excellent line and load transient response with just a small 2.2 μF ceramic output capacitor.Three versions of this part are available, one with fixed output voltage options and variable soft start (ADP1715), one with adjustable output voltage and fixed soft start (ADP1715 Adjustable), and one with voltage tracking in fixed output voltage options (ADP1716). The fixed output voltage options are internally set to one of sixteen values between 0.75 V and 3.3 V; the adjustable output voltage can be set to any value between 0.8 V and 5.0 V by an external voltage divider connected from OUT to ADJ. The variable soft start uses an external capacitor at SS to control the output voltage ramp. The ADT75 is a complete temperature monitoring system in 8-lead MSOP and SOIC packages. It contains a band gap temperature sensor and 12-bit Aanalog-to-digital converter (ADC) to monitor and digitize the temperature to a resolution of 0.0625°C. The ADT75 is pin and register compatible with the LM75 and AD7416.The ADT75 is specified for operation at supply voltages from 2.7 V to 5.5 V. Operating at 3.3 V, the average supply current is typically 200 μA.The ADT75 offers a shutdown mode that powers down the device and this mode gives a shutdown current of typically 3 μA. The ADT75 is rated for operation over the –55°C to +125°C temperature range.The A0, A1, and A2 pins are available for address selection. The OS/ALERT pin is an open-drain output that becomes active when temperature exceeds a programmable limit. The OS/ALERT pin can operate in either comparator or interrupt mode.Product Highlights On-chip temperature sensor allows an accurate measurement of the ambient temperature. The family integrates high resolutionΣ-Δ ADCs with flexible, up to 10-channel, input multiplexing, afast 8-bit MCU, and program and data Flash/EE memory on asingle chip.The ADuC845 includes two (primary and auxiliary) 24-bit Σ-ΔADCs with internal buffering and PGA on the primary ADC.The ADuC847 includes the same primary ADC as the ADuC845(auxiliary ADC removed). The ADuC848 is a 16-bit ADCversion of the ADuC847.The ADCs incorporate flexible input multiplexing, a temperaturesensor (ADuC845 only), and a PGA (primary ADC only)allowing direct measurement of low-level signals. The ADCsinclude on-chip digital filtering and programmable output datarates that are intended for measuring wide dynamic range andlow frequency signals, such as those in weigh scale, strain gage,pressure transducer, or temperature measurement applications.The devices operate from a 32 kHz crystal with an on-chip PLLgenerating a high frequency clock of 12.58 MHz. This clock isrouted through a programmable clock divider from which theMCU core clock operating frequency is generated. The microcontrollercore is an optimized single-cycle 8052 offering up to12.58 MIPs performance while maintaining 8051 instruction setcompatibility.The available nonvolatile Flash/EE program memory optionsare 62 kbytes, 32 kbytes, and 8 kbytes. 4 kbytes of nonvolatileFlash/EE data memory and 2304 bytes of data RAM are alsoprovided on-chip. The program memory can be configured asdata memory to give up to 60 kbytes of NV data memory indata logging applications.On-chip factory firmware supports in-circuit serial downloadand debug modes (via UART), as well as single-pin emulationmode via the EA pin.
