The ADSP-21062 and ADSP-21060 SHARC DSPs are signal processing microcomputers that offer new capabilities and levels of performance. The ADSP-2106x SHARCs are 32-bit processors optimized for high performance DSP applications. The ADSP-2106x builds on the ADSP-21000 DSP core to form a complete system-on-a-chip, adding a dual-ported on-chip SRAM and integrated I/O peripherals supported by a dedicated I/O bus. Fabricated in a high speed, low power CMOS process, the ADSP-2106x has a 25 ns instruction cycle time and operates at 40 MIPS. With its on-chip instruction cache, the processor can execute every instruction in a single cycle.The ADSP-2106x SHARC DSP represents a new standard of integration for signal computers, combining a high performance floating-point DSP core with integrated, on-chip system features including a 4 Mbit SRAM memory (2 Mbit on the ADSP-21062, 1 Mbit on the ADSP-21061), host processor interface, DMA controller, serial ports, and link port and parallel bus connectivity for glueless DSP multiprocessing.

The ADuC816 is a complete smart transducer front-end, integratingtwo high-resolution sigma-delta ADCs, an 8-bit MCU,and program/data Flash/EE Memory on a single chip. This lowpower device accepts low-level signals directly from a transducer.The two independent ADCs (Primary and Auxiliary) include atemperature sensor and a PGA (allowing direct measurement oflow-level signals). The ADCs with on-chip digital filtering areintended for the measurement of wide dynamic range, lowfrequency signals, such as those in weigh scale, strain gauge,pressure transducer, or temperature measurement applications.The ADC output data rates are programmable and the ADCoutput resolution will vary with the programmed gain andoutput rate.The device operates from a 32 kHz crystal with an on-chip PLLgenerating a high-frequency clock of 12.58 MHz. This clock is,in turn, routed through a programmable clock divider from whichthe MCU core clock operating frequency is generated. Themicrocontroller core is an 8052 and therefore 8051-instructionset-compatible.The microcontroller core machine cycle consistsof 12 core clock periods of the selected core operating frequency.8 Kbytes of nonvolatile Flash/EE program memory are providedon-chip. 640 bytes of nonvolatile Flash/EE data memory and256 bytes RAM are also integrated on-chip.The ADuC816 also incorporates additional analog functionalitywith a 12-bit DAC, current sources, power supply monitor,and a bandgap reference. The ADuC841/ADuC842/ADuC843 are complete smart transducer front ends, that integrates a high performance self-calibrating multichannel ADC, a dual DAC, and an optimized single-cycle 20 MHz 8-bit MCU (8051 instruction set compatible)on a single chip.The ADuC841 and ADuC842 are identical with the exception of the clock oscillator circuit; the ADuC841 is clocked directly from an external crystal up to 20 MHz whereas the ADuC842 uses a 32 kHz crystal with an on-chip PLL generating a programmable core clock up to 16.78 MHz.The ADuC843 is identical to the ADuC842 except that the ADuC843 has no analog DAC outputs.The microcontroller is an optimized 8052 core offering up to 20 MIPS peak performance. Three different memory options are available offering up to 62 kBytes of nonvolatile Flash/EE program memory. Four kBytes of nonvolatile Flash/EE data memory, 256 bytes RAM, and 2 kBytes of extended RAM are also integrated on-chip. The parts also incorporate additional analog functionality with two 12-bit DACs, power supply monitor, and a band gap reference. On-chip digital peripherals include two 16-bit Σ-Δ. DACs, a dual output 16-bit PWM, a watchdog timer, a time interval counter, three timers/counters, and three serial I/O ports (SPI, I2C, and UART).On the ADuC812 and the ADuC832, the I2C and SPI interfaces share some of the same pins. For backwards compatibility, this is also the case for the ADuC841/ADuC842/ADuC843.However, there is also the option to allow SPI operate separately on P3.3, P3.4, and P3.5, while I2C uses the standard pins. Matching to within 1 LSB between reference andfull-scale currents eliminates the need for full-scale trimming inmost applications.Direct interface to all popular logic families with full noiseimmunity is provided by the high swing, adjustable thresholdlogic input.High voltage compliance complementary current outputs areprovided, increasing versatility and enabling differential operationto effectively double the peak-to-peak output swing. The LTC2801/LTC2802/LTC2803/LTC2804 are single and dual RS-232 transceivers in narrow SSOP and chip-scale DFN packages. All operate over a supply range of 1.8V to 5.5V, which permits operation directly from two alkaline, NiCd or NiMH cells. An integrated DC-to-DC converter generates power supplies for driving RS-232 levels. A logic supply pin allows easy interfacing with different logic levels independent of the DC-DC supply.These parts are compatible with the TIA/EIA-232-F standard. Driver outputs are protected from overload and can be shorted to ground or up to ±15V without damage. To extend battery life, receivers can be kept active, operating at reduced speed, with only 15μA current. In shutdown mode, current is further reduced to 1μA.
