The LTC3426 step-up switching regulator generates an output voltage of up to 5.5V from an input voltage as low as 1.6V. Ideal for applications where space is limited, it switches at 1.2MHz, allowing the use of tiny, low cost and low profile external components. Its internal 2A, 100m? NMOS switch provides high efficiency even at heavy load, while the constant frequency, current mode architecture results in low, predictable output noise that is easy to filter.Anti-ringing circuitry reduces EMI concerns by damping the inductor while in discontinuous mode, and internal soft-start eases inrush current worries. Internal frequency compensation is designed to accommodate ceramic output capacitors, further reducing noise. Demonstration circuit 742B features the LTC2449, an 8-/16-channel, high speed, 24-bit ΔΣ ADC with ten selectable speed/resolution modes from 6.9Hz/200nVRMS to 3.5kHz/25μVRMS (4kHz with external oscillator). Key DC specifications include 5ppm INL, 5μV offset, 10ppm fullscale error and 20nV/°C offset drift. In the 6.9Hz/200nVRMS mode, input normal mode rejection of 50Hz and 60Hz noise is better than 87dB. The accuracy (offset, full-scale, linearity, drift) and power dissipation are independent of the speed selected. The LTC2449 performs auto-zeroing of the ADC by reversing the inputs through the multiplexer output/ADC input connections. This allows an external dual buffer amplifier to isolate the signal inputs from the sampling current of the ADC.

The LTC2950 is a micropower, wide input voltage range, pushbutton ON/OFF controller. The part contains a pushbutton input with independently programmable ON and OFF debounce times that control the toggling of an open drain enable output. The part also contains a simple microprocessor interface to allow for proper system housekeeping prior to power down. Under system fault conditions, an internal KILL timer ensures proper power down.The LTC2950 operates over a wide 2.7V to 26.4V input voltage range to accommodate a wide variety of input power supplies. Very low quiescent current (6?A typical) makes the LTC2950 ideally suited for battery powered applications. Two versions of the part are available to accommodate either positive or negative enable polarities. The ADM1172 is a hot swap controller that safely enables a printed circuit board to be removed and inserted to a live backplane. This is achieved using an external N-channel power MOSFET with a current control loop that monitors the load current through a sense resistor. An internal charge pump is used to enhance the gate of the N-channel FET. When an overcurrent condition is detected, the gate voltage of the FET is reduced to limit the current flowing through the sense resistor. During an overcurrent condition, the TIMER pin capacitor determines the amount of time the FET remains at a current limiting mode of operation until it is shut down. The ON (ON-CLR) pin is the enable input for the device and can be used to monitor the input supply voltage. The ADM1172 operates with a supply voltage ranging from 2.7 V to 16.5 V.The ADM1172 also features a power-fail comparator. The voltage on the PFI pin is compared with an internal 0.6 V reference, and the output of this comparator is presented on the PFO pin. This device is available in two options: the ADM1172-1 with automatic retry for overcurrent fault and the ADM1172-2 with latch-off for an overcurrent fault. Toggling the ON (ON-CLR) pin resets a latched fault. The ADM2561E, ADM2563E, ADM2565E, and ADM2567E?are 3 kV rms signal and power isolated RS-485 transceivers. These devices are designed for balanced transmission lines and comply with ANSI/TIA/EIA-485-A-98 and ISO 8482:1987(E). The devices pass radiated emissions testing to the EN 55032 Class B standard with margin on a 2-layer printed circuit board (PCB) using two small external 0402 ferrites on isolated power and ground pins. The device features an integrated, low electro-magnetic interference (EMI), isolated dc-to-dc converter, which eliminates the need for an external isolated power supply. The isolation barrier provides immunity to system level electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards. The family of isolator devices features ?12 kV contact and ?15 kV air IEC61000-4-2 ESD protection on the RS-485 A, B, Y, and Z pins. The devices also features cable invert pins, allowing the user to quickly correct reversed cable connection on the A, B, Y, and Z bus pins while maintaining full receiver fail-safe performance.Slew rate limited versions are available, which are optimized for low speed over long cable runs, and have a maximum data rate of 500 kbps. Half duplex and full duplex variants are available.
