The LTC4302-1/LTC4302-2 addressable I2C bus and SMBus compatible bus buffers allow a peripheral board to be inserted and removed from a live backplane without corruption of the bus. The LTC4302-1/LTC4302-2 maintain electrical isolation between the backplane and peripheral board until their VCC supply is valid and a master device on the backplane side addresses the LTC4302-1/LTC4302-2 and commands them to connect. The LTC4302-1/LTC4302-2’s ADDRESS pin provides 32 possible addresses set by an external resistive divider between VCC and GND. The LTC4302-1/LTC4302-2 work with supply voltages ranging from 2.7V to 5.5V. The SDA and SCL inputs and outputs do not load the bus lines when VCC is low.Rise time accelerator circuitry allows for heavier capacitive bus loading while still meeting system timing requirements. During insertion, the SDA and SCL lines are precharged to 1V to minimize bus disturbances. Two general purpose input/output pins (GPIOs) on the LTC4302-1 can be configured as inputs, open-drain outputs or push-pull outputs. The LTC4302-2 option replaces one GPIO pin with a second supply voltage pin VCC2, providing level shifting between systems with different supply voltages. The AD698 is a complete, monolithic Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) signal conditioning subsystem. It is used in conjunction with LVDTs to convert transducer mechanical position to a unipolar or bipolar dc voltage with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability. All circuit functions are included on the chip. With the addition of a few external passive components to set frequency and gain, the AD698 converts the raw LVDT output to a scaled dc signal. The device will operate with half-bridge LVDTs, LVDTs connected in the series opposed configuration (4-wire), and RVDTs.The AD698 contains a low distortion sine wave oscillator to drive the LVDT primary. Two synchronous demodulation channels of the AD698 are used to detect primary and secondary amplitude. The part divides the output of the secondary by the amplitude of the primary and multiplies by a scale factor. This eliminates scale factor errors due to drift in the amplitude of the primary drive, improving temperature performance and stability.The AD698 uses a unique ratiometric architecture to eliminate several of the disadvantages associated with traditional approaches to LVDT interfacing. The benefits of this new circuit are: no adjustments are necessary; temperature stability is improved; and transducer interchangeability is improved.The AD698 is available in two performance grades: Grade Temperature Range Package AD698AP –40°C to +85°C 28-Pin PLCC AD698SQ –55°C to +125°C 24-Pin Cerdip

A single 3.3V or 5V supply powers both sides of the interface through an integrated, isolated DC/DC converter. A logic supply pin allows easy interfacing with different logic levels from 1.62V to 5.5V, independent of the main supply.Available options are compliant with SPI and I2C (master mode only) specifications.The isolated side includes fixed ?5V and 5V adjustable power supplies, each capable of providing more than 100mA of load current. The 5V adjustable supply may be programmed via an external voltage divider.Coupled inductors and an isolation power transformer provide 2500VRMS of isolation between the input and output logic interface. This device is ideal for systems where the ground loop is broken, allowing for a large common mode voltage range.
