ADD5211CP-EVALZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADD5211 is a four-string, white LED driver for backlight applications based on high efficiency, current mode, step-up converter technology. The boost controller drives an external MOSFET switch for step-up regulation from an input voltage of 4.5 V to 40 V and a pin adjustable operating frequency from 200 kHz to 1.2 MHz. An adjustable UVLO function is implemented to reduce input current during power-off.The ADD5211 provides four regulated current sinks for uniform brightness intensity. Each current sink can be driven from 40 mA to 200 mA; the LED driving current is pin adjustable using an external resistor. With an input PWM interface, the ADD5211 drives up to four parallel strings of multiple series connected LEDs.Additional features include LED short protection, LED open protection, boost output short protection, overvoltage protection, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown for both the IC and the LED array. An open-drain fault output is also included. A programmable soft start is implemented to reduce inrush current during startup. Applications LCD monitor and TV LED backlights Industrial lighting

Analog Devices Inc.
The LT3492 is a triple output DC/DC converter designed to operate as a constant-current source and is ideal for driving LEDs. The LT3492 works in buck, boost or buck-boost mode. The LT3492 uses a fixed frequency, current mode architecture resulting in stable operation over a wide range of supply and output voltages. A frequency adjust pin allows the user to program switching frequency between 330kHz and 2.1MHz to optimize efficiency and external component size. The external PWM input provides 3000:1 LED dimming on each channel. Each of the three channels has a built-in gate driver to drive an external LED-disconnect P-channel MOSFET, allowing high dimming range. The output current range of each channel of the LT3492 is programmed with an external sense resistor. The CTRL pin is used to adjust the LED current either for analog dimming or over-temperature protection.Applications RGB Lighting Billboards and Large Displays Automotive and Avionic Lighting Constant-Current Sources

The LT3478/LT3478-1 are 4.5A step-up DC/DC converters designed to drive LEDs with a constant current over a wide programmable range. Series connection of the LEDs provides identical LED currents for uniform brightness without the need for ballast resistors and expensive factory calibration. The LT3478-1 reduces external component count and cost by integrating the LED current sense resistor. The LT3478 uses an external sense resistor to extend the maximum programmable LED current beyond 1A and also to achieve greater accuracy when programming low LED currents. Operating frequency can be set with an external resistor from 200kHz up to 2.25MHz. Unique circuitry allows a PWM dimming range up to 3000:1 while maintaining constant LED color. The LT3478/LT3478-1 are ideal for high power LED driver applications such as automotive TFT LCD backlights, courtesy lighting and heads-up displays. One of two CTRL pins can be used to program maximum LED current. The other CTRL pin can be used to program a reduction in maximum LED current vs temperature to maximize LED usage and improve reliability.Additional features include inrush current protection, programmable open LED protection and programmable soft-start. Each part is available in a 16-pin thermally enhanced TSSOP Package.Applications High Power LED Driver Automotive Lighting

LT3476EUHF Demo Board | Quad Buck Mode LED Driver, PVIN ≤ 33V, Up to 27VLED @ 350mA or 1.05A

Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 976 is a Quadruple High Power LED Driver in Buck Mode featuring the LT3476EUHF. The LT3476 is a quad output, multitopology DC/DC converter designed to operate as a current source for driving high current LEDs. Each of the four regulators on the demo circuit is independently operated. The VIN power supply for the IC ranges from 2.8V to 16V. The PVIN power supply for the buck regulators ranges up to 33V. On the demo circuit, the default current for each output channel is 350mA but it can be adjusted up to 1.05A via resistor dividers at the VADJ pins. The output current should not exceed the rated current of the LEDs used. If 1W LEDs, such as the Lumileds Luxeon LEDs, are used, 350mA current is the maximum. 1A output current is reserved for 3W LEDs, such as Luxeon III. The input voltage is limited by the CAP pin overvoltage protection threshold. As a result, each channel of the demo circuit can drive up to 27V total LED voltage.

LT3909EDD Demo Board | 2-String Boost LED Driver, 7V ≤ VIN ≤ 36V, VLED up to 35V @ 50mA (x2)

Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 2176A features the LT3909, a 2-string × 50mA, 2MHz step-up LED driver with ±1.8% current matching. The LT3909 precisely regulates two LED strings for equal current, supports LED dimming that reduces brightness down to a 1/40,000 ratio, protects against faults and also reports faults. The LT3909 consists of a step-up converter with a fixed 2MHz switching frequency and current sources for the LED strings. The maximum current in each LED string is 40mA. The ISET resistor can be changed to 20.0kΩ to program the string current to 50mA – see the data sheet for an application example with 50mA string current. Voltage feedback resistors optimize operation for LEDs that are 35V maximum.
