LT8330 Signal Chain Evaluation Board | Boost Converter w/ 1A, 60V Switch

Demonstration circuit SCP-LT8330-EVALZ features the LT8330, a boost/SEPIC/inverting converter with a 1A, 60V switch. The demo circuit is specifically a boost converter with an operating input voltage range from 10V to 36V and an output voltage of 48V. With a 12V input, the maximum output current is 135mA. Like all boards in the Signal Chain Power series, this board is designed to be easily plugged into other SCP boards to form a complete signal chain power system, enabling fast evaluation of low power signal chains. To evaluate this board, some universal SCP hardware is required, namely: SCP-INPUT-EVALZ SCP-OUTPUT-EVALZ SCP-FILTER-EVALZ SCP-THRUBRD-EVALZ SCP-1X2BKOUT-EVALZ SCP-1X5BKOUT-EVALZ SCP-5X1-EVALZ   To properly evaluate SCP series demo boards, you will need the SCP Configurator companion software. SCP Configurator can help you choose the right board and topology for your design. Note that the Demo Manual does not cover details important to the operation and configuration regarding the LT8330. The HMC1065LP4E is a compact GaAs MMIC Image Reject Low Noise Converter in a leadless RoHS compliant SMT package. This device provides a small signal conversion gain of 13 dB with 17 dBc of image rejection, and -2 dBm Input IP3. The HMC1065LP4E utilizes an RF LNA followed by an I/Q mixer which is driven by an active X2 multiplier. IF1 and IF2 mixer outputs are provided and an external 90? hybrid is needed to select the required sideband. The I/Q mixer topology reduces the need for filtering of the unwanted sideband. The AD9516-2?provides a multi-output clock distribution function with subpicosecond jitter performance, along with an on-chip PLL and VCO. The on-chip VCO tunes from 2.05 GHz to 2.33 GHz. Optionally, an external VCO/VCXO of up to 2.4 GHz can be used.The AD9516-2 emphasizes low jitter and phase noise to maximize data converter performance, and it can benefit other applications with demanding phase noise and jitter requirements. The AD9516-2 features six LVPECL outputs (in three pairs) and four LVDS outputs (in two pairs). Each LVDS output can be reconfigured as two CMOS outputs. The LVPECL outputs operate to 1.6 GHz, the LVDS outputs operate to 800 MHz, and the CMOS outputs operate to 250 MHz.Each pair of outputs has dividers that allow both the divide ratio and coarse delay (or phase) to be set. The range of division for the LVPECL outputs is 1 to 32. The LVDS/CMOS outputs allow a range of divisions up to a maximum of 1024.The AD9516-0 is available in a 64-lead LFCSP and can be operated from a single 3.3 V supply. An external VCO, which requires an extended voltage range, can be accommodated by connecting the charge pump supply (VCP) to 5 V. The SSM6515 is a fully integrated, high efficiency, mono Class-D audio amplifier with digital input that is ideally suited for use in wireless headphones. The application circuit requires few external components and operates from a 1.8 V (PVDD) supply and a 1.2 V to 1.8 V (IOVDD) supply. With 1.8 V signaling, these can be shared. It can deliver 85 mW of continuous output power into a 16 ? load with 90% efficiency at 55 mW into a 16 ? load and it has a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 113 dB, A weighted. The SSM6515 has a micropower shutdown mode with a typical shutdown current of 6 ?A at the 1.8 V PVDD supply and can automatically power down with no input. The device also includes pop and click suppression circuitry that minimizes voltage glitches at the output during turn on and turn off. Inputs support various serial audio formats, including I2S, time division multiplexing (TDM), and pulse density modulation (PDM).The SSM6515 is designed to operate with an I2C control interface or in standalone mode and specified over the temperature range of ?40?C to +85?C. The ADXL362 is an ultralow power, 3-axis MEMS accelerometer that consumes less than 2 μA at a 100 Hz output data rate and 270 nA when in motion triggered wake-up mode. Unlike accelerometers that use power duty cycling to achieve low power consumption, the ADXL362 does not alias input signals by undersampling; it samples the full bandwidth of the sensor at all data rates.The ADXL362 always provides 12-bit output resolution; 8-bit formatted data is also provided for more efficient single-byte transfers when a lower resolution is sufficient. Measurement ranges of ±2 g, ±4 g, and ±8 g are available, with a resolution of 1 mg/LSB on the ±2 g range. For applications where a noise level lower than the normal 550 μg/√Hz of the ADXL362 is desired, either of two lower noise modes (down to 175 μg/√Hz typical) can be selected at minimal increase in supply current.In addition to its ultralow power consumption, the ADXL362 has many features to enable true system level power reduction. It includes a deep multimode output FIFO, a built-in micropower temperature sensor, and several activity detection modes including adjustable threshold sleep and wake-up operation that can run as low as 270 nA at a 6 Hz (approximate) measurement rate. A pin output is provided to directly control an external switch when activity is detected, if desired. In addition, the ADXL362 has provisions for external control of sampling time and/or an external clock.The ADXL362 operates on a wide 1.6 V to 3.5 V supply range, and can interface, if necessary, to a host operating on a separate, lower supply voltage.
